This has a good scenario: Peter muttered under his breath. Yanking off his flannel shirt, he raced toward the burning inferno, wrapping his hand because everything was too hot to touch. He raised his arm, shielding his face from the heat. I like how this takes a turn: Doyle straightened, exuding confidence. "They've already made their first mistake by crossing me. I won't let them forget it."

How sad for John Doyle that his perceived unchecked power seems to have been "checked" quite deftly! It's entirely consistent with his entitled character that he would be angry yet consider this just another hurdle in the marathon of criminal activity he so enjoys.
So nice to see Eleanor doing what she does best! Margaret didn't make it... I wonder if she'll have a "spirit" after life?

I'm trying my best to chip away at my backlog... Reading this much of your novel and one short story has been a welcome respite for me!

I'm be willing to bet that Doyle has something up his sleeve to get this overturned and get out. lol. Well, maybe not, but with you at the controls, we never know for sure what's going to happen. And I love it!
Thanks for sharing.

Doyle believes the parole hearing was a minor glitch and he'll be back on the streets in no time....his wealth and power blinds him to the truth. Thanks for the awesome stars and for enjoying the chapter.

A great development from Ch 1 and I did enjoy the parole hearing and the way you conveyed his emotions and the shock at being denied.
I need to do a quick re-read of the chapter I already read then I shall be ready for the next part of this great story.
I really felt for Eleanor, even though I knew it was coming, that part bit.

.Mr John Doyle is very sure of his evil power, isn't he. A good read Carol, and now the fun begins as Doyle gets even more of his plans into play but I'm sure it all won't go how he plans. Well done,
cheers

Unfortunately, with his power and wealth a lot will happen before they can stop him and none of it will be good. I so appreciate your support and the stars, Valda. You put a smile on my face because you enjoy what I write. Thank you.

This man needs to be put in the ground, where he can't harm anyone again, he's so evil the ground may not stop him, he could be the devil's offsides, or even his superior, but at least as cunning as the devil, but the devil has already lost, by something that evil doesn't understand, beautifully written, blessings Roy

I can't wait till Doyle gets what he deserves but in the mean time he will do his best to hurt many people...people we care about. Thanks so much Roy for the kind words and the review.

Carol,
This book is coming along nicely. It's the type of book once you pick it up you don't want to put it down. I'm glad I am able to read it from the beginning. From what I've read so far this book is going to be a number one best seller. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat.
Great job.

I can write fast, but most say it's too much to throw at them at one time...they perfer the short cute things. Me...I like to get into the brawl and come out slinging.... Glad you enjoy the story. Chapter 3 is posted.

Doyle is a lot more dangerous after his ten years in prison. He has already had his wife murdered and broken Eleanor's heart. He has the power and money and influence to do a lot of terrible things even from prison.

Yes, Doyle has had lots of time to stew about his situation and make plans for payback. I am afraid our friends will have to be very careful. He's already proven how dangerous he can be. Thanks so much.
