Another fine write, Gypsy....count yourself lucky that she was there to gently coax a talent that only she saw out of you. A great teacher is wonderful to have, just as a terrible one damages your phyche.

I had my share of bad teachers in catholic school, who gave me nightmares.

Oh, you were so lucky to find a teacher who encouraged you. I had the opposite experience. A teacher told me I would never make it as a writer and I believe him. Didn't write for twenty years. This was wonderful. Gretchen

I think we always remember the teachers who encourage us. I would love to meet a few of my old teachers again, they were really instrumental in my writing as well. An excellent piece, I enjoyed reading it.

We all need someone like mrs. Whipple, when I was only in my early twenties, my best friend's dad was my opening batting partner at cricket, but he taught me to think, play bridge, and how to conduct family like, he was a mentor, and really the father I never had, beautifully written, blessings Roy

I wish I had taken a writing class back then. I hated english but loved writing stories, go figure. I had a number of teachers and proffesors that have helped me along. But FanStory has helped me with the writing. Loved your story Gypsy.
