Glad you enjoyed this boy toy entry. I have a unique style of writing, so I've been told, easily identifiable even if a blind contest. Have posted another since this release, and have another in the hopper.

Ah well I can see you really had fun with this. And it really was an enjoyable story to read.
I think we have all at one time or another been woken up at the wrong time while having the best dream ever! I loved, 'where a trillion stars sparkled in concert' you set or should I say painter a lovely serene dream.
Well done and good luck with the contest!
Best Wishes

How annoying it is to suddenly be statled into wakefulness whilst in the middle of a beautiful and pleasing dream, and then not to be able to reimmerse yourself within it. Best wishes for the contest.

I like how you describe your dream in paragraph one and put me there in that birch canoe drifting along that moonlit stream on a cool, silent star-laden night. Although I like your humor, I wish you could have continued the dream.

Me too, but the gods weren't with me, as the story told was the event that occurred last night. Really.
Thanks for your comment.

It was a lovely scene you were painting before the phone rudely interrupted your daydreaming. I hope that you manage to get back into your writing. Well done.

Since this was in real time last night, and the story is true, I tried to resume what I had dreamed but nada, zilch, nothing occurred. Thanks for your remark, Kahlani. Are you in or from Hawaii (Oahu)? The Big Island? Molokai?

You painted a very beautiful and calming picture, and I, too, wanted to drift there, enjoying the serene moment under the stars. I hate those unwanted phone calls, especially ones that come in the middle of the night. Too bad there isn't a replay button on those dreams.

What an enchanting dream you've described here! I love how you capture the beauty of the scene. I could almost feel the coolness of the night and see the stars sparkling above. It was funny when you got the phone call! . Thank you for sharing this magical moment. You share a lovely picture!

well, I had to laugh after you set the mood with all that dreamy dream, and the phone rang and it was a wrong number. Now, that was funny.
At least, to me.
Best of luck in the Paint a dream in words contest.
