This is an amazing story, Rhonda. I'm hoping everything is now OK with your health, after all the surgeries you have endured. The part about Peter is great. I'm voting 'angel.' Thanks for sharing. Blessings. Carol

    Hi Carol,
Thank you for going back on these posts and reviewing. I had a few rough years, but then back to work and gardening, lol. It's funny how we survive what we need to in this world!! By the Grace of God!!

This is a very well told story of survival. With the failure of the surgeries to heal, you had to have both human and divine help. I am not ready to talk about my sadness, the suicide of our grandson who we raised and loved and admired for all the things he was. Did we miss something we might have changed?

Oh wow, Carol, I'm so sorry. I'm sure you did nothing wrong. Society has become so convoluted it's hard to know what to do. My heart goes out to you as I'm also raising a grandchild. She already knows the frustration of loss and abandonment, and she's only 3. We do what we can.

Rhonda, I am so glad you were able to touch the hem of His garment. That's all it takes. I am so glad you are on the road to healing and being healthy again my friend. If you don't mind I would love your address! Pretty please! love and blessings, Teri

    Hi Teri!!!
Thank you for the six stars and for the comments. I think people who pray with prayer cloths are also touching His hem!

The strength God gives us during the most unimaginable pain of our lives is hard to comprehend. You had angels watching over you during that time. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

    Hi Marilyn,
Thank you so much for stopping by to review. I appreciate your time and commentary. God does give us strength where and when we don't even expect it.

I feel somewhat inadequate as I have nothing even remotely similar in any way to your harrowing experience. I fear my day will come at any moment. I do not live in fear or suffer from any anxious moments about it. At age 81, I am pretty sure that I will most likely not survive it, but that is ok as I believe that I am living on borrowed time anyway. I thank God that you survived your ordeal.

    Hi Nolan,
I pray you never have such an ordeal, and at 81, you've probably gone through your worst.
I understand the borrowed time comment. I'll be writing another survival story that I shouldn't, by all accounts, have survived. I've been feeling since then that I'm only here doing whatever God spared me to do.
    Big hugs,
    Rhonda

Excellent writing here that takes the reader on a journey with you through these surgeries. I am glad Nurse Peter was with you and able to comfort you. Love the message about touching the hem of Jesus' garment. It is a comforting part of your story.

    Hi Mermaids,
I appreciate your time on this chapter. It was one of the most powerful experiences in my life. There are times when the supernatural touches our live and we are aware of it.

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Hi Rhonda, part of your journey certainly was familiar to me. I was diagnosed (out of the blue) with invasive adenocarcinoma--rectal cancer. The tumor was much smaller than yours, golf-ball sized, but it was malignant. I'm clear now, but was so thankful, like you, to have the Lord to lean on and cry to. I don't know how people without that get through.
However, your experience following the surgery was not my experience, and it sounds truly horrifying. That an Angel was sent to you is a magnificent testimony. Thank you for sharing your story!

    Hi Julie,
Thank you for your honest review. I've found so many stories people have shared since I had mine. Each unique, each its own survival story. Some didn't survive and I heard from their family members, including the doctor who originally referred me for the colonoscopy. She had lost her father. I don't know what God saved me for, but I firmly believe He knows.
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Hello, Rhonda. It is hard to get bad news, especially when it is so unexpected. I guess bad news is always unexpected, but it comes along anyway. Being benign, was almost like a mixed blessing, because of the subsequent problems you had. I am very happy to hear of your success in the end. As Paul said, we don't have to win the race, we just have to finish. Sometimes finishing is very hard. You did it successfully and I congratulate you. It was a blessing from God.

Robert

Hi Robert, thanks for the review and comments!! You have a great point about what Paul said about not having to win, but finishing is enough. That is encouraging, thank you for that!!

    Take care,
    Rhonda

Rhonda, thankyou. I am so blessed I didn't miss this one. Peter was an angel. I just want to give you a great big hug. Every time you look at the scars I bet you remember the merciful intervention of God in your life and they are beautiful. Esther

    Hi Esther,
Thank you so much for the six stars, my friend!!! I actually thought about you while writing this. With your intense background in medicine and faith, I figured you could relate on several layers.

I agree on Peter. Otherwise, how is it I remember his name out of the many that cared for me during this time, and right about the time they administered Midazolam. I told them it wouldn't make me forget, but it still added some fuzz, lol.

Yes on the scars. What's that song, "Thankful for the Scars?"

    Thank you again,
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

Aw, Rhonda, thank you so much for sharing this with us. I can so identify with much of it. The fear, the acceptance and the elation that comes with it. Again, thank you so much for sharing and for being here. Hugs, Ulla xx

Hi Ulla, thank you for meeting me in the middle. I'm glad you were able to relate to the struggle, and that was the point of this book and post. I want people to tell their own stories, whatever direction that takes them. Mine involved faith, which is not something I bring out much, but when I need it, I talk about it. Other people can write stories just to share. I hope you do as well.

    Big hugs,
    Rhonda
