Oh, that such were not the case...! :/ Truly a modern-message haiku with all the great aspects of this time-tested form... Thanx so much for sharing, Gypsy! ;) Yvette

Another nice poem, Gypsy....you know, if I could walk normally and was a woman I can relate to this. Hey, you do what you have to do to make a decent living!

Haha! Wonderful humour, Gypsy, with delightful images of old age. I like the play on words of 'broke' and the fragility that can characterise this stage in our lives. In few words, you sum it all up so precisely. Well done! Debbie

This is a reality for many Americans and others alike, be it SSI or another form of Governental retirement income. Your words strike a relatable cord with even me. Sometimes I struggle between Ned's and food. Mostly, I am ok, thank God for giving me wisdom years before it ensued. Your words are very sobering and true. Well done

That is so true. But Oh, the things old people know that transcend the meager SSI monthly allowance. Like how to life without electricity or technology...how to be happy although broken and poor...good job Gypsy. Esther

Or fearing broken bones! But I liked how you started with the fragile bones and switched to another type of being broke. It's the hardest thing to be broke when one is past retirement.

I enjoyed your picture and poem very much. I can just picture those old women trying to pole dance! So funny that they are holding her up so she can be on the pole, because she has no muscles left. Thanks for the humor!
