Aww, poor Kevin. I'm sorry for this loss. Your poem is a lovely remembrance, and I'm sure your grands love it. You've used great rhymes and steady meter throughout. It's so hard to lose a good pet. Hugs! Carol

Hi Carol, and thanks for the kind review and comments..
I wrote this not only because I knew my son and his family would appreciate it, but I knew so many could relate with their own pet's deaths.
Thanks again, my dear friend. Love, Debi

You're welcome, Debi. We've lost a few pets, so I sympathize. It's hard on the children who've grown up with the pet.

This is a great tribute to the memory of a beloved family pet. Pets are like regular members of the family. They love and comfort you and have their own personalities. They understand what you're saying, and know how to communicate their wishes. I'm sorry for the loss of Kevin and know he is surely missed.

This poem, Goodbye to Kevin the Cat, marks the end of the family cat and the difference that his absence makes after being the fog horn siren for the family.

But I appreciate most, you throwing in the remark about the siren, as he was so loud and we laughed about that all the time. I don't ever want to forget that, so thanks for that smile.
Thanks again, my dear friend. Love, Debi

a great little tribute to your family pet, Kevin the awesome cat. I like cats more than dogs and can relate cats are great friends and welcome their owners but cats are strange creatures I think.

Hi Debi,
Sorry I missed this poem. It is so sweet and so sad. You've honored Kevin with this good-bye poem, though you can feel the sadness shine through. He was pretty, and from what you say, unique. I know he is missed.
Much love,
Rhonda

And this is why they say your talent knows no bounds! You can commemorate a dead cat like like no other. You can celebrate friends, birthdays, anniversaries, nature, events, opinions, the momentous, or the Mundane, like they say: Debi can do it all! Great job. Now all of us are missing Kevin, and most of us have never even met him. Sorry but I've got to go now, I've got to go get my Kleenex.

Hey Dan, and thanks for the kind review and comments.. and how sweet of you to say all those nice things about all my tributes.
I wrote this not only because I knew my son and his family would appreciate it, but I knew so many could relate with their own pet's deaths.
I did love Kevin a lot, but he was the first cat I did, as I have always been a dog person. Oops, sorry but I do love cats more now.
Hey, thanks dear brother for those shiny stars. Kevin is maybe swinging on one tonight.
lol, remember that song, "Or would you like to swing on a star?"
Thanks again, my sweet bro. Love, Debi

I am babysitting my two-year-old granddaughter and trying to catch up on a months worth of thank youse in between her questions and her needs that only GRAMPS can handle. We've talked about cut and paste before. You may possibly see this again.
(Oh, you're welcome for the stars.)

Wow! Great poem! I liked the rhyming scheme in this poem. Although a sad issue - the poem itself is very good! I really like the way you write. Keep up the good work Debi!

Debi,
A sad, yet wonderful tribute to Kevin the cat. I was saddened while reading your poem, because I've lost beloved pets throughout my life, and its so emotionally painful.
Your rhyme is perfect and flows well.
Great poem, Debit.
Best wishes, Cindy

Ahh....This is sad. It alwayshurts so much we a pet dies. Cat are always climbing but they usually land on their feel when they fall. I didn't realize how attached you could be to a cat until recently. Now I live alone except for my cat and I would devastated if anything happened to her. The is execellent poem of memorial for this special pet.

Hi Beth and thanks for the kind review and comments.. we are thinking that he must have had some kind of cerebral hemorrhage or something to make him fall. He was an expert up on top of that high perch of his.
I wish you many more wonderful years with your sweet cat.
