Debi, I agree entirely with your wonderful thoughts. Just to let you know, privately, my computer was hacked, and while the scammers did not get any money, they cost me hours of work. My computer was in the shop to be cleaned up for about a week, so except for going back for this post, I will start later this week to review. I thank God for all His help and His presence with me. Love, Verna

Hey Verna, wow, not a fun week for you. I am so sorry that you were hacked, but happy you haven't lost any money with this hack. That is so stressful what you have been through.
I have to ask you for some prayers for me. My eye has a cornea abrasion and it is so serious that the doc is making me come in every day now and treating it. In fact he is even going to open the big office just for me to come in for an hour every day this weekend. At home I am putting in antibiotics every hour. He says if this doesn't work what we are doing, I may lose the eye. So, please pray for me, my sweet sister and friend. I appreciate it so much. Love, Debi

Praying right now and will keep you in my prayers. Love you! Verna

This poem, There is Always a Bright Side, presented with five rhyming couplets, reminds the readers that satan is always waiting to fan our problems into a flame of descent. Good to be faithful and aware of God's plans for us.

There is always a bright side Debi. However, sometimes we have to look a little harder for it. I am with you, I don't capitalize his name and prefer not to even use it.
Today,I'm searching for that bright side. A year ago, my grandson had a stroke in Taiwan and I wrote his story in my poem "Miracle Man" became he was just that - a miracle. A miracle to be alive. Yesterday, he was filling some equipment with diesel fuel where he works. It sprayed him with diesel and ignited. Tonight he is in a Burn Center with 2nd and 3rd degree burns and we are searching for the bright side in all this. His burns are not life threatening but to a handsome 24 year old who may be scared for life - we are still searching.
Covet your prayers.
Great Poe to ponder tonight.
Blessings
Janet

Oh my dear Janet, I am sobbing as I write this. How simply horrible for your grandson and your family. I am so sorry and I did take the time to pray before I started to write this and will pray continuously for this precious 24 year old boy. I know he is a man, but to grandmas he is always a boy.
My heart is breaking completely and it is true, how do we find a bright side at a time like this. But I was just watching a sermon on tv on Sunday that told how God lets bad things happen sometimes to make something good happen in other ways. Like perhaps he may touch the life of someone who truly needs it right now. I am not sure what God has in mind, but my dear friend if it is any comfort at all, please know that God is using your miracle man again for something good. I believe that with all my heart.
Please, please please keep me updated and give me any info you can that I can send to my church. I think you have my email debipm@icloud.com that I may send prayer requests to my congregation. Bless you and your family and know that somehow, in someway there is a bright side waiting.
Love and big Hugs, Debi

I do the same thing. "satan" never gets capitalized by this gal--
(common noun ~ no respect)
Glad we feel the same about that! There is so much darkness in the world today and more and more I hear people saying they feel depressed, oppressed or both.
That satan...he loves to steal every silver lining. Hah.
When we open our hearts in true faith the sun (and the SON) always defeats evil!
Lovely poem of grace, topped by a most inspirational image!

Dearest K, we seem to feel the same about most things in life. So why would it surprise me that this is much the same.
Starting with the capitalization of satan's name, but so many other wondrous parts of His instructions for us.
Which we both try very hard to follow. Thanks for the sweet words.
Lotsa love and hugs. Debi

I remember getting in trouble in school (Junior High) because I wrote a poem and kept "satan" in lower case. My teacher said it would cost me half a grade. I said (Good enough!)

Excellent poem that reminds the reader to look to God for brightness and the positive side of life. How often obsessive thinking can take over and it is unhealthy. Excellent faith based poem that teaches the reader.

Thanks so very much, Elaine, for the loveliest comments regarding my bright side poem. I agree with you a 100% about how unhealthy obsessive thinking is. Thanks again for your kindness. Love and hugs. Debi

What a lovely way to encourage us to look to the bright side. You eloquently illuminated who the bright side is and what following him entails. Thanks for also reminding us that sometime there are challenges around the way in there might be some brown outs and power outages but our real source of power remains constant and we never ever have to fear!
Beautiful pic sis.

Hey Dan, I love how you expressed that about power outages and power at all. You too are such a great encourager, but then you are the preacher, dear brother. Thanks for the six stars, as you do spoil me. I know some day I will get you back. You are so special and I thank you so very much. Love, Debi

You are most welcome for the review my sis. I owe you an apology for taking so long to get back with you to say that. I know you don't wanna hear my excuse as to why. L.O.L.

I once watched a TV motivational speaker who said "We all struggle with ANTS," meaning Automatic Negative Thoughts. He suggested worldly ways of killing the ants. However, I agree with your spiritual solution of placing your burdens and cares on our Lord. Through illness and hardships, He is always with us. Thanks for reminding us there is always a Bright Side.

My dearest Lorraine, I had never heard of the ANTS before. Wow, but it makes complete sense. I guess I don't understand why anyone thinks negative when there is so much goodness that God has given us.
Thanks so much for all the lovely comments for my poem. You are so special and I thank you so very much. Love, Debi

This poem touches on a profound struggle many face--wrestling with negative thoughts and past regrets. Your message about not letting these thoughts take over and instead leaning on faith is deeply comforting.
You beautifully emphasize the idea of casting our worries onto a higher power and finding solace in that trust. The imagery of Jesus shining light to guide us is powerful and uplifting.
The closing lines, with their focus on Jesus' sacrifice and the hope for finding one's "Bright Side," offer a heartfelt and reassuring conclusion. Your personal tone makes the message feel warm and genuine, reminding us that faith can be a beacon through tough times.

Hi Debi, your poem is beautifully penned with soft and soulful imagery.
We really need to spend more time being thankful for what we have vs. what we don't have, or obsessing about what other people have or don't have. Of special note:
Yet, why do we allow satan to mess inside our head
We should be casting all our cares to our dear Lord instead
(Because we are human)
Perfect, lovely photo choice. Well done. Xo. M

You are one of the most positive people I've been acquainted with. This poem is very " Debi", with well chosen words and thoughts presented systematically.
What else can I say about it other then ... "Oh yea, I'm going to bookmark it."
Love ya kiddo!

Awe, John, thank you so much. I did get into the specialist today and what happened was that when I got covid eye I did something to scratch my eye really bad and it tore the heck out of the cornea and it blinded me. So I have to go in every two days and they will do a treatment and replace a contact on it each time. Good news that it most likely isn't permanent.
I can't believe you bookmarked it as that may be one of the sweetest compliments ever. Thanks so much my dear brother. You are too kind and I am honored for by your six stars. As always, you are the greatest friend and bro. Much love and hugs, Debi
