So easy to lie and make promises you can't or won't keep! This certainly sums up politicians, captured in a fluent and well-rhymed limerick! Well done, Shirley, and good luck! Debbie

Very clever. I am sitting outside reading interesting entries to my hubby and friends. Well written, good luck in the contest. I wish money and false promises did not control our country. Esther

That's the truth... Your limerick points out that making promises is a whole lot easier than carrying through!

Many politicians will sell their souls for a vote!

This limerick, Winning, has the proper formatting and seems to be pointing to one or the other party which has seemingly set us up to dry. ............

Well at least you kept your political bias out of the poem. I hate when creative people use their platform for political purposes. In America the president is elected for four years. You'll hear the unsubstantiated claim that if elected this or that guy will make himself king, but the are policies in place to stop that so do believe the hype. That's for the ignorant voter.
