This was very funny. I'm glad you didn't stop the story in the middle. The final punch line was perfect. I like the overconfident beginning and the tongue-in-cheek ending. The back and forth of the bets kept the story interesting.

There's lots of personality in the writing here, lots of humor, and that drew us into the story. To me, it's a story of how sports and being a fan can become a wider part of your life, and color many aspects of your life. It can make relationships stronger, even be the basis for them. I recall becoming friends with someone in high school because we were both Yankee fans. estory
