Jim good job. I very much like your writing and you clearly have a gift for expressing your thoughts in poetry or prose. You are sneaking up in the rankings...if that is important to you. Esther

I was thinking of Joe Biden as I was reading this piece, or you could be referring to Donald Trump. He probably was feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the different voices telling him to go, but I'm glad he has gone, he certainly wasn't fit enough to be President.

Hi Jim,
A neat idea for the 80 Word Flash Fiction. Good Luck in the contest!
I'm guessing these 82 words are coming from Joe Biden's mouth. Am I right? I think this line gave it away,
"What was that Nuclear Code?" What a great way to end the Flash Fiction! I feel sorry for poor old Joe. He would have been such a terrific President when he was younger. He's served his country well, and deserves their thanks. (Of course, I'm Canadian. So what do I know?)
Cheers,
Kimbob

This is really good! I think that we all feel like we are going to go mad at times!
The cry for help can come in times of pain, confusion, anxiety and so on!
The very frustration of trying to remember a code when you have gone blank actually gives me the heebie jeebies, it's happened to me with the pin number of my bank card so many times before the days you could tap!
Well done, very entertaining

Wow! Now that's a scary situation you've set up. It's even scarier that you can essentially threaten nuclear annihilation in just 82 words. Is it wrong of me to say that, within this frightening set-up, I'm detecting a bit of humor in the person holding the nuclear codes whining that people are ganging up on him?
I don't know if I'll stand a chance, but I'll be entering an 80-word story myself later this week.

Cleverly worded flash, reining in all your older readers who will identify with the first part of your writing. Then it becomes clar who you are referring to. However, perhaps it is better to forget that nuclear code rather than to be threatening everyone with using it just to show how clever and powerful you are or aren't. Well written. Best wishes.

Very amusing/scary/sad story depending upon whether we want you to remember the code or not. You wrote a complete story in only 80 words which is pretty great. Good going!

Great job! Thank you for sharing.

Ohhhh yeah; there's everyone's worst nightmare - REGARDLESS of their political leanings - in an eighty-word nutshell. You did a great job of keeping the suspense tight and captivating and providing a feeling of alarm and desperation. I expect to see this in the Winner's Circle of the 80 Word Flash Fiction contest! Good luck to you. xoxox
