Ciao mystery poet, you now have three votes.
It was hard to choose but ultimately Nellie's story won my vote.
It was a delightful story.
I'm glad that she got to live her last years in a loving family.
So many pets end up at a shelter when their elderly owners die.
Dogs are beautiful creatures , they have the power to draw people together.
Prickles are nasty buggers. I had a cross between a collie and a German Shepherd
and two Afghans .. prickles were a constant issue, they can cause infections.
PS: you could have used a shopping trolley to take her home.

This is a heartwarming story -fits right into the Feel Good Story category- dogs are so significant in our lives. not just the lives of their owners but almost the lives of any person that they touch- thanks for restoring our Faith in humanity.

Wow. I'm sorry for your loss of Nelly or whatever her real name is. But it sounds like she lived a good life.

I love this, particularly since we've owned many pets, five of them dogs, they all loved a walk, but towards the end, less and less, we had known Them from puppyhood, so we'd been with them for many seasons. This a beautiful story, well done, blessings Roy
