Thank you very much for this wonderfully creative poem. I love "nighttime's leading man", and will enjoy admiring "him" in a fresh, new way. Very will done.

It is no surprise to me, Eugene, that you've written such an elegant ABC poem.

I think the dancing metaphor is carried throughout, and it works so well as we all feel a certain "music" in our hearts as we gaze at the moon!

I imagine somewhere on the other side John Milton must smile... It's said that these lines morphed into the "Trip the light fantastic" line we're so familiar with, and your integration of that here is so apropos!

"John Milton. In the masque Comus, 1637, he used the lines: "Come, knit hands, and beat the ground, In a light fantastic round."

Best of luck. The ABC is one of my favorite forms!

Thank you for sharing! Love this piece, the part valiantly swaying to time's memorable melody. I myself like to sing and dance, even off beat or no tune.
