Well described, the last flight of the Red Baron. The Fokker triplane was probably the most manoeuvrable fighter in the first world war, a great aircraft for it's time.

I liked your description of his final flight, which is probably as accurate as any other. I know at the time ground forces claimed to be firing at it too. The picture adds to the enjoyment and helps the reader to visualise the scene. Good work. Mel.

You had a good rhyming scheme with this. Your poem was historically accurate, well-researched, and told a good story. It should have been a contest entry. Very nice job. Thank you for sharing.

Oh no. Those were the words I uttered right after finishing reading this piece. I was engaged and invested. Why could he not come out on top? I was rooting for him.

Your poem was well put together, and I enjoyed the rhyming and the subject matter. I felt I was there as a pilot in the triplane over France, and I could almost feel the bullet in my face and the plane spiraling down. What a wonderful poem!

This excellent poem commemorates Manfred von Richthofen, a fighter pilot in WWI. I wonder what motivated you to write the poem? The poem relives the last fearful moments of the Red Baron. The art of dogfighting takes a different view in modern days. Thanks for sharing.

Wow this reminds me of something I saw on the history channel one time. It was about the adrenaline of being up in the sky like that. Crazy to think this could have actually occurred

This is a very well written poem about a historical figure in the history of war. I enjoyed very much listening to it as it moves along very well when it is read aloud. May you have a wonderful day and may God bless you with continued wonderful writing. Patricia

hello Dear,
thank you for such a thrilling sensational poem: i suppose you're the hero pilot in the story :) it must have been so amazing, i wanted to fly on a F16 when i saw a video of the airforce, but i realised its only one seat and that you need a license for this lol i love sensations too, but could only fly on Boeings ( i have visited 15 countries in total )
Many thanks, i liked your poem,
Best wishes,
Sarah

This is superbly crafted ; the way you described the aerial fight so precisely is remarkable. The irregular meter is suited for this theme and you have even used rhymes!
