This story, Tricycle Thief, is hilarious as the first offender has the stolen property ripped away, leaving the painful memory of having fought the law when the law won.

Thank you for your kind and humorous review.

This made me smile. I guess you were too young to appreciate the difference between meum and tuum! LOL
Although if you carried the trike up the stairs you couldn't have been toddler age.
Hope Santa took the hint and left a trike or bike under the tree that year.
Good luck in the contest

I mean....the tricycle was just parked on the pavement! I think you showed intuitive but apparently your parents didn't see the situation that way lol This is a good entry for the First Memory writing prompt. Good luck.

It was kind of a slum. Thank you for your kind review.

I liked this one because it is a simply written story as told by a little child. I feel that it is one of the few that got the prompt that said it had to be "through the eyes of the child you were back then." I would suggest that you include a picture or image of a tricycle which would strengthen its imagery.

Oh my gosh, what a determined youngster you were, mystery writer. I can just see you sneaking out and getting that tricycle. Too cute. I'm sure your parents didn't feel the same, but still. You achieved your goal.
Best of luck in the contest,
Rhonda

Naughty little boy, did you ever get to have your own tricycle? I always wanted a bike but we lived on a main road and it was considered too dangerous for me to ride around our streets. Unknown to my parents at school I often borrowed my friend's bike and had a bit of a ride around. Fun memory naughty boy.

Oh, dear, so you were a tricycle thief! Lol. Do you remember how old you were? I can understand your parents were horrified, but you had a ball as long as it lasted. Good luck. Ulla:)))

Wow! This was a very interesting first memory. I can see why it stuck in your mind all this time. I'm glad the tricycle was returned to the neighbors. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This is so funny! We all did crazy things when we were kids. When I read this I got such a great image of you riding this tricycle around in your living room. This is a great contender for the contest. Good luck!
