This is a very well written poem you have penned about your golf hobby. You used great descriptive words and very good imagery from the art work you chose. My husband loves to watch golf ninety percent of the time. I just don't get it! Best wishes in the contest. Teri

Thanks for your nice review. Lucky you who appreciates the art of golf: there is no violence, no audible cursing. There is only a long walk among friends. It is merely a game against ourselves in the beauty of God's creations. With you, your husband is never in the rough, right?

Oh it's not a waste of time, mystery writer, my Richard loved that game, but it was a game he loved to play only with his buddies...it's also a game that can cost a good penny too...right!..

I enjoyed reading your poem, and I'm glad you enjoyed playing golf...it's a real man's game...a time for friends to enjoy each other...That's what it seemed to be with my husband too..Keep at it as long as you can...Enjoy!

Good Luck in the Contest!

Warmly,
Victoria

Happy 4th, Mrs Major. Your review touched my heart. My wife and I have been married 47 years, 3 daughters, six grandchildren. We met in New York City, she from Massachusetts, me from Texas. She is mostly kind and patient with my golf. You are right, it is a pretty penny, but she enjoys her shopping sprees, so it was even. I am certain that you and your Richard had many years of happiness, true love and travel as well. God Bless you.

Enjoy the day too, mystery writer, Happy Fourth!...Richard left us in final sleep more than thirty years ago (1989)...but I've never found anyone to take his place( never really looked for one)...We married young, and stayed together without ever thinking that one day I'd be without him...I can truly say, we had a good life together, he loved to play golf, and I loved to go shopping...lol...
We loved to travel too, he was such a joy to be with...Yep, that guy was the love of my life...God sent him to me, and Blessed our lives with 2 sons, 1 daughter, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter...and...1 beautiful little great granddaughter.

May God continue to Bless you and all of your loved ones...I'm happy for you, I know what it means to be happy with a loving mate!
    Hugs

    Victoria

I enjoyed your poem about golf. I don't know too much about golf, but the poem described it well. I also got a kick out of your author's notes. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

So glad you took a risk by reading about golf. I know my wife nods off every time I start a golf story. But, I do enjoy it. Have a fun and America filled 4th!

Hi

This looks like a good entry for the contest. Good luck with that!!

Are you really into golf? For me it was chess. You just substitute some of the words and it's the same. And yes, it's an addiction, but an agreeable one that would not hurt any other people.

It's never a waste of time to pursue one's hobby as long as nobody else is hurt. Yes, it's true that after we're gone, nobody's going to talk about what great golfers we were. But in our little clicks And our own little time we had fun

I enjoyed reading your poem

Good job. Thank you for sharing.

Checkers spoiled me. As a boy, I loved checkers. Chess always seemed too complicated and my attention span is famously short. At 76 now, I do not play as much golf by far. Now, I most just complain about things. But, still enjoy a round now and then. Thanks for stopping by!
