I'm wondering just how long it will take for Tony and Terrence to slip back into their wicked ways once Benny is out of sight? LOL. It's true, "boys will be boys." Thank for sharing. One more week and things can get back to normal. :-)

I hope that they learned a lesson because hanging out with guys like Frankie and Louie can prove very dangerous to one's health. Can't wait till you are safely home.

Terrence and Tony should be very thankful for Benny, who has not only saved them physicall, but will ne the instrument of their turning to good and productive livs. Louie? he's had a big fright but is still consumed by greed. Well written, as always.
Wendy
Edit: "Name's Benny, he offered as he looked at them intensely. "Like the guys you're running from, I used to be a hitman. (Close quotation marks after "Benny").

This is great that Benny saved Tony and Terrance in such a way that they will become productive citizens. Louie has had a lesson in ghosts that has scared him (probably not straight) but certainly enough to worry about his mental state. And Noah suddenly remembers where he saw the book they need. Good movement toward solving the problem of the ghosts who have to make good.

I think Benny has earned his place in the redemption line. Now, Louie, not so much. And the search begins for the real treasure. Thanks so much Carol for reading and reviewing.

In desperation, Tony turned to God to not let his life end in a muddy river during a storm. I loved seeing Benny, the guardian ghost, and star of this chapter, help two young men decide not to follow a life of crime. How creative. I also enjoyed the portrait of Betty Lou, the co-star of this chapter, as she promised Louie a night to remember.
You have taken us on a phenomenal journey with a loveable ghostly cast of characters who are moving closer to redemption. They all have examined their lives, recognized their mistakes, and tried to be better souls. They therefore, deserve redemption.

Two of my favorite parts as well. Glad you enjoyed them. Thanks for seeing the depth of the characters and how they have changed since the journey began. I appreciate your thoughts and of course, the lovely stars. Thank you so much.

A ghostly voice with an alluring invitation to the boss hooligan bothers him as Betty Lou plays tricks with the crooks, fancy all that money and gems, I could do with some of that. Terence and Tony sound repentant and Benny gives them a helping hand and a fresh start, well done Carol, blessings Roy

I like how Benny has taken on a new mission to save those who lived a life of crime to change their ways. He knows that every person has the potential of redemption. Great description of the storm in the river, too!
I liked the humor with Louie finally getting a clue of how haunted the place is. Hopefully, the mobsters won't be able get far with all the treasure!

I believe Benny has earned a spot in the redemption line. And set two young boys on a different path in life as well. Thanks so much for the review.

Now that Tony and Terrance have been taken care of., I doubt we'll see them agian. Benny had fun with them but saved their like and set them on the right path. The think with Louie and the talking portrait was funny. I anxious to see what happen as they try to leave. They think they've found the treasrue but the real treasure is still hidden. Great writing.

I don't know what I liked best...Benny saving the boys from the river...and incentivizing them to turn their lives around, or Betty Lou spooking the heck out of Louie...
All right then! I think we're on our way to finding the real treasure! (Although every chapter has been a treasure to me)
So, in the study...
(I'll be waiting for the next!)

You, my dear, are going to love the next chapter, or at least I hope you do. I love it. But yes, I'll be sad when it ends... but then I should tell myself I am on to bigger and better things. LOL. Thanks always for sticking by me, enjoying my writing, and being the best friend I could ask for.

It's an easy bet I'll love the NEXT chapter since I've loved all of them thus far! I may fall behind -- but I ALWAYS double back and catch up with you, you writing machine!
-
Trying to finish this one since I was supposed to be in the contest but I don't want to write two novels at one time. LOL but thank you for loving what I write.
-
OH, right! So you're going to go for the novel in a month? If anyone can catch up and make it shine, you can!
-
We will see! I had planned on it, but then this novel was supposed to be done?and of course, it is not.
-
Since you can post two chapters a day...(and you so often do) -- my money is on YOU, kiddo!

We are getting so much closer to finding the treasure. I can tell. Thank you for sharing this post with us. I really like this story.
Terrence and Tony exchanged a terrified glance before nodding vigorously. Tony answered, "I promise." Still unsure what was happening, Terrence followed suit, stuttering, "I promise. I don't want any part of this life anymore." (a paragraph needed for each person speaking.)

Thanks, Barbara. I think you are going to love the next chapter, or at least I hope so. It's an action-packed one, and things are coming to a head. Thanks for the catch. It's an easy fix, and it's done.
