This sounds horrendous and these mobile vehicles need to make sure their brakes are secure when nearing the edge of a cliff! Another unusual post Bill, I think crash should be splash here, ha ha ha, love Dolly x x x

This verse reminds me of a paragraph I read in a safety manual. By using the Tanka form, you created a dramatic and effective imagery for your reader. Thanks Bill.

You must be an excellent swimmer because you obviously survived the crash. Now all you have to do is to figure how did I mess up your brakes. Good luck. I am very skilled at what I do.

I knew the brakes were bad, but I made the horn louder to make up for it.

Dang! You are just too smart for me. Back to the old drawing board.

The imagery of a car and driver falling in unison when the guard rails fail is striking and a little uncomfortable to be honest. It's a powerful reminder of the fragility of what we construct against the relentless laws of nature. Great job.

I've hit that guard rail several times in my past and I'm sure glad it did its job. I always am thankful my brakes held up whenever as bridge opened up in front of me.

Yes, both should do their part.

One time I was driving a blind woman and her guide dog. A car came speeding in back of me, struck me and sent me into the guardrail and back out again. I learned a lot about human nature that day. People kept flying by me and cursing. I yelled to them i just had an accident. One answered, "If you don't get out of the road, you're gonna have another!"

I have no cause to blame them. I myself did many foolish things in my life.

Here you are sending someone else to his death crashing through a guard rail which fails to guard anything. This almost sounds like the answer to a math problem.

Thank you for this physics lesson in a tanka form. May none of us ever test this speed and gravity factoid. It's not one that they advertise in all the relentless Fourth of July car commercials.

Your assessment of the speed of movement in both automobiles and passengers is accurate and interesting. But someone needs to report on why guard rails fail. Thanks for sharing.
