Hi Gypsy, I love this poem. The moon has magical powers to change so many things, even the eyes of the beholder. Beautiful presentation. This poem made me smile. Xo. M

Gypsy,
Yes, under certain conditions people do look attractive - probably a scarecrow too?!?
My suggested edit for your first line : 'neath a/the beautiful moon -- 'By' IMHO does not best describe your imagery.

i'm not sure about using "ugly" - maybe "young and smooth" vs "tired and rugged" or something... then again it could be just me LOL!
still good imagery and smooth flow
thank you for sharing

For some reason the bottom picture didn't come out. I am pretty nobody is ever ugly. Everybody is created by God. God doesn't do ugly. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us.

I just checked again and it's there now. It's really pretty. My Internet's been acting strange. Maybe that had something to do with it.

The moon has a way of highlighting that which is best in us, and 'protecting' what needs to be improved. Such a timeless and insightful verse.
Thank you for posting. I love the effects of silhouettes.

Ah, maybe that's why there is the expressions based on the moon like "moonstruck" and "lunacy" and "moon blink" as the moon can affect our eyes! Cute!

Moonstruck.... I love that, I may write about it. Lunacy is funny.... so many weird names for people with mental illness. I never heard ... moonblink....
Thank you very much, big sister.

I thought it meant just a distortion in eyesight but google says " nyctalopia, also known as moon blink, which is the inability to see in the darkness. But that happens due to a vitamin A deficiency."

I truly admire and enjoy your clever poetry, especially the Haiku.
This posting is no exception.
Cleverly written, true to style requirements and elegantly supported by
the choice of imagery.
A pleasure to read.
Blessings
