This poem tells us that children are loved by Jesus. If they had a choice, I wonder what they would choose first: do you think Sunday School where they learn about the man above? That would be a great choice.

You captured the character of Jesus well. He always reminded His disciples about the importance of little ones and I'm sure He would have enjoyed laughing with kids, rather than drag them to the next required event.

The truth of the matter is when Nicodemus was told Ye must be born again, He was saying that the only way we can see the kingdom of God, was to be able to trust that through Jesus we can know the way, then we can enter by our our belief. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I happen to love children too. Probably why I taught first grade for 26 years. I know God loves them too. I'm sure they make Him smile. This is a wonderful presentation.

Teaching is the best job, unfortunately they don't get paid what they should. You must have seen some sad situations and had to buy shoes or whatever they need it. Poor kids. Thank God for good teachers like you.

Thank you very much, my friend.

I bought shoes, socks, all clothes, to include coats and took some of my Black students hair done when it was all matted.

Your poem captures a tender moment with humor. The image of annoyed parents trying to pull their child's hand, while the child is entranced by something in a vacant garden is both relatable and so funny. I loved the final line. That just made this poem perfect. Your poem shares the difference between adult concerns and the pure, joyous perspective of a child. It reminds us that what is important is the simple moments of life.

Is it that the child could see God presence in the garden because of his innocence? I think it is that. I know as you leave the innocence of childhood, your spiritual vision gets cloudy from all the goings on in life. Oh, to be a child again!
Beautiful poem, I love the imagery and the pallet/tones and shades of the colors.
