Another fine write, Hull.....and one that explores the damage that one's actions or words can have on another person, often a damage that lasts a lifetime

I like the way you use dance as a metaphor for life and the unadulterated joy and agency you once enjoyed. Now you feel robbed of that freedom you owned and hopeful that it may one day return. But not for anyone else. This is a love that you must first retrieve for yourself. Apologies if I have misinterpreted but this, for me, is an excellent and very expressive fulfilment of the contest prompt. Well done and good luck! Debbie

So sad. The jeering and mocking destroyed what was for you a liberating and self balancing form of expression. The ridicule would destroy not only your private and personal experience but also your self esteem and your relationship with him. Very sad. Well expressed. Best wishes for the contest.

I can relate to this bc I've dealt with ADHD my entire life and it's not easy to have a mental disorder.
Perfect entry for the Mental Health Awareness Week contest. Good luck in the contest my friend!
God bless!

This free verse poem was emotional in all the right ways. I loved, "Each second of torment / a shovel of dirt / dumped onto the coffin / of my now dead form / of expression." When our forms of expression are silenced, it does considerable damage.

Thank you for submitting this sad piece to the contest, it was obvious to me that it was true and must have portrayed an extremely difficult time in your life. It was very well-written. kay
