Hi Barbara,
This is a nicely done three line poem which reminds us how much COVID and its effects have changed the world. Just like 9/11 changed life in the US.
Keep writing and stay healthy,
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Joan

HI Barbara, good commentary and philosophy poem, I wonder if you were writing about a war that took place in your country? Happy belated birthday, I'm glad you recovered from pneumonia. Dove

Dear Barbara, I hope you're feeling a lot better now you're out of hospital. Your eye-catching post beautifully complements the mystery and fast-moving pace of change in our world. Well done! Debbie

I'm not sure what this refers to but it could be taken a lot of ways - environmentally, politically, or spiritually. God has everything in His Hands so we can trust Him no matter what we see.

Hi Barbara, the world we see is not the world that we once knew. It is very disheartening. I don't if the world has lost it's beauty, or if it's the people who have lost their inner beauty. So, many ugly, graceless faces are surfacing. B, if we could only turn back the hands of time ...
Well done, well expressed. Great photo choice. This is a poem that many can/will relate to. You still got it! Xo. M

This is a very well written true poem you have penned. When I was a young girl, it wasn't anything like it is now. Beautiful imagery you have chosen to go with your true words. love and blessings, Teri

Good morning!

I'm always happy to see you've posted...

It can be overwhelming as we see so many changes in our world.

Like you, I remember simpler times when there seemed to be more civility, as well as fewer conflicts within our politics.

Whatever happened to dialogue and communication?

Not to mention more global problems such as climate change, pollution, and always war!

I pray we turn it around!

Karenina

Barbara dear,
I completely agree with your concise and beautifully crafted short verse poem. Understand we are in the end times and these things will continue on until Jesus returns. I'm telling everyone I know to draw close to the Lord and be vigilant in prayer. I feel it is not too far away with the convergence of recent signs and phenomenon.

Sending you my best today as always and blessings in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am not sure I actually understand your meaning here. On the surface, you are talking about a whole world changed. I wonder if this is global warming but is this forever? But your title is a foreign land which make me think about a single country, not the globe. It is plain you are looking back and missing something, what is not so evident.

Mark,This is about many countries and many themes. power hungry, greedy leaders, Obsessive Green machine destroyer, wars and the big war to end all wars teetering on the edge-nuclear war. Three and a half yrs ago, the world was a much calmer place. Led by strength and caring for people An imperfect man. No wars then and respect. Not like today led by criminals intent on destroying and leading with fear, threats and bullying. It is global, enemies feeding on weakness. God help us. Thank you for your review and rating. I hope this helps to clarify. Barbara

I thought I would look into your statement: between 2020 and 2021 Wikipedia listed 8 ongoing wars. Not exactly peaceful.
reply by the author on 04-May-2024
Must have been local wars. Nothing like what is going on now globally. Anyway, you missed the main point. This world has never been at peace. I believe I said it was calmer. TY for your interest. Blessings. B

I so agree with you here Barbra, the world is unrecognisable from when I was a child, so many changes with mobile phones, internet, on-line dating sites, food, plants and restrictions. The list is endless Barbara, I enjoyed your few truthful words, love Dolly x
