I am far from a surfing expert, but I am in awe of those who tackle this challenging sport. You did a wonderful job describing the emotion and pairing it with life.

i think you did well with this surf tanka
i liked how you used the surfing terms like salvation thruster
thought i'm not sure about "running"... but that could be just me lol
other than that, this had great imagery and smooth flow

I have never been surfing, (don't like sharks) though I do enjoy watching on TV. the balance required seems extraordinary, and many Aussies seem quite good at it, (waiting to exhale) seems very appropriate, as they do go under quite often, very well presented****kahpot

You may not be an expert but you were spot on with the mentality of a surfer. The break is often hunted and coveted. Some even try to own it and keep others away. I felt the exhale part. Being tossed and held under can be terrifying. Great poem. Gretchen

You captured the heart- stopping nature the sport of surfing. I don't know much about surfing terms but I liked "balanced on salvation's thruster " as that works for all of life.

I didn't know much about surfing but I found a good site with a lot of information. I am waiting to hear from James, he was a surfer when he was younger. I am sure he can give me helpful feedback.
