This is another excellent chapter. Ginnie's drawl is great. And she plays a great Desiree Love. I jumped ahead and read the next chapter. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Glad you enjoyed this chapter, Lee. It was kind of fun to write Ginnie's part.

Ginnie put on a good show but I don't blame her for being worried about Alan going don't. I don't see him just handing the hard drive over so easily. It is good he is checking the references for the man he hopes to hire.

You're right. It probably won't go as easily as that. One more precaution he plans to make.

Ginnie and Alan worked well together trying to get information on Warren. And now Alan's going into the lions den to confront them. This was a good read Jim wirh both drama and humour.
Well done,
Cheers
Valda

Ginnie is brilliant and should get an Oscar for her ad lib acting! But oh dear, I'm plenty worried! And I hope the new assistant is a good and honest guy that Alan can rely on.
Shouldn't Alan bring backup and have the police right behind him?

He probably should have some sort of backup, but I guess he just thinks he'll leave and give up on the idea if it looks like it will be dangerous. He may be in for a rude awakening.

This chapter effectively combines elements of mystery, suspense, and interpersonal drama to create a compelling narrative that keeps the reader engaged from start to finish. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks very much, Mark. This is leading up to a dramatic finish I hope you will find equally engaging. Next chapter on Tuesday.

Good to hear that Alan has a potential replacement lined up. Now for the confrontation. I hope it goes well. Ginnie did a splendid job of setting Warren up.

Thanks very much, Tony. We'll have to see how smart or dumb this unplanned plan of his is to get the drive back.

Allen and Ginnie devise a plan to catch Warren.out, and Allen's going to catch him out by going to the location they wheedle out. Ginnie devises the name of Desiree Love to trap the thief, this has been terrifically interesting watching you cleverly plotting your story's course. Well done Jim, blessings Roy

Thanks, Roy. We'll see if he's bitten off more than he can chew with this "no real plan" plan of his.

Hmm, this doesn't sound like something David would do. I get it. You want to show he is changing, but I don't think Ginnie, now a wife, would advise David to physically challenge, not one but two, criminally minded brothers. The notion of them stabbing or shooting him is real, and if David tries to take his hard drive, (doesn't know where it is), he could easily go to jail, if he survived. David is too smart (he was) and timid to do that. As is Ginnie.

Yes, this is out of character for Alan, but he's not stupid. He will scout things out, and I don't think he has plans just to barge in with both brothers there. He will bide his time until he sees an opportunity. Plus, he plans to take one more precaution which will become clear in the next chapter.

I think I would be more afraid for Alan than Ginnie seems to be. But this is a different time from when they are living. Still, Alan should maybe consider taking a friend or Arkansas police officer with him as it will be two to one in that house.

That's a good point, and I think I may beef up Ginnie's fear of this situation more than I have. But Alan is determined to go, so he will override her fear.

I enjoyed the telephone conversation between Ginnie and Dennis. Ginnie handled it quite well. I previously noted how Alan's personality changed during the course of the story. But now, he's going to become a dare devil by confronting Warren. I can't wait to find out how this turns out.

Thanks, Lorraine. It may be a risky and dumb thing to do, but he's determined. He doesn't have a specific plan, so anything can happen.
