Warren probably grew up poor, and started gambling thinking he could make a quick buck. What does a man like Warren do with one-hundred thousand dollars? His mother said both of her sons were good for nothing. I wonder if she blames herself. Ha! This story has been full of unexpected surprises throughout, and demonstrates your creativity and imagination. I look forward to the next chapters.

Thanks, Lorraine. I guess he spent a lot of it to pay off the debt he owed and probably will use the rest to start gambling again. He doesn't seem to learn that he's not that good at it and continually gets in debt. He'll blow the rest in no time.

Good on Alan's determination after being blamed for things he didn't do then having his ideas stolen. Lessons learned. A good finish deciding to discuss it all with Ginnie. The Meyers boys sound like trouble to me. Another good read Jim.

Alan has another big project in front of him, finding a no-good gambler who is suddenly rich and has money that should be Alan's. Also, he has important information on Alan's hard drive about other possible inventions. His new project is a good addition to Alan's story.

Thanks, Carol. What's on that drive has the potential to make him a fortune, which I think he realizes. Plus, it must stick in his craw to see someone else capitalize on his good ideas.

I think he brought the glasses with him to dinner on a whim, and didn't even think about someone robbing him of them in broad daylight. That would be too strange.

I don't think he would be robbed either, but I mean how he seems to learn or not learn from his experiences. If a normal person went through what David did, and almost lose a potential fortune, would you casually bring the invention out to dinner to show a child (who didn't ask him to) with no precautions on a whim? I don't know if that scene is needed for your story, but his actions make him seem....

Good for Alan! Not only is he great inventor, great husband and dad, but now he's also pretty good as a private investigator even impersonating a pastor to get his info on Warren. But Warren probably didn't keep the hard drive. I wonder if he sold it in some hardware scrap shop?

That could be, but knowing Warren as he does now, he doesn't trust him with all the other invention ideas on the hard drive. He doesn't want to go through with this hassle again, especially since he's got the equivalent of Bluetooth technology defined on there, which hasn't been invented yet.

Good that the matter of patent pending is now all resolved. It seems that Warren is even worse than one might have imagined at first. Definitely no tears to be shed when he eventually gets his comeuppance. Gambling addiction has tragic consequences for all concerned.

That's for sure. He had some talent and could have been successful, but his addiction got him. A fascinating subject, addiction. I'm thinking my next story might be about that.
