I'm enjoy this crazy story. The law just wants him out of town because they can't explain him, but at these the truth seems to be working in his favor. I hope he and Mary will be able to be together. He deserve something like love after all these years.

thank you for your very nice review.

This is another excellent chapter. I think I missed a few chapters. You have described the cloak and dagger sense in this chapter. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Slim has managed to make a safe exit from town with the help of some decent folks like detective Albion, and of course, his beloved Mary.
Will he be able to hideout successfully for a couple of weeks, and will he make it back to Cerrillos eventually, and will the darn authorities leave him alone once and for all? And where in all this is Ben Paul?
Questions, questions. I know we'll soon enough get answers. This is a fun story about a fun character so far.

Thank you.
You have (inadvertently?) caught on.

I do wonder what the FBI wants with Slim as he didn't do anything wrong except try to live forever. Or do they want to experiment on him? It is sweet that Mary is in love with him.

Thank you.
Yes, the FBI wants the 'escapee' because the Feds want to do tests on him. But the Colorado Sate Investigator has his own ambitions, as we shall see.

I was hoping you'd post a chapter when I had six stars! It's addicting following Slim's adventures from place to place. None of my characters ever spent a night in aq dog house, though some deserved it. Hope to see the relationship between Slim and Mary continue to develop.

Thank you!
And thank you for the six stars!
Oh yeah, Slim found his LouAnne, and then some.

I wish Slim the best of happiness!

I never thought a tent would be a "step up" in sleeping conditions, but I guess when you've been in the doghouse it is, lol!
Well, he's on the run and who knows where that will lead. So glad Mary is sticking with him, and she's sure a crafty one, isn't she?
"My eye leaked like a holey bucket." I guess Slim did a lot of crying:-)
Good chapter, Wayne. Moving on to a new adventure in a new place (but not exactly new to Slim).
Have a great week ahead.

Thank you.
I don't expect Slim is quite ready to quit Mary just yet.
We are in the dead center of totality tomorrow (Russellville, AR), but are outside of town on a mountain. We have zero interest in going to town until all the gazers are gone!
Thanks again

I think we have a 60% viewership (is that the word I want?) here; thank you for reminding me that I have to make a viewer out of a cereal box:-) I can't wait!

Excellent. The State investigator may not be able to understand Slim's story, but he has at least been helpful, and so was the vet! I enjoyed the coded dialogue with Mary.

Thank you for the catch.
'Might could' is a personal affectation in Slim-speak. I talk this way at times. But since it isn't necessary to the plot, it might could be better cleaned up. Thank you. (smiley face here)

lol. I already have trouble sometimes with the way you guys speak!

Wayne, This is a very well written chapter with great descriptive words and very good dialogue. You always write really well, and I enjoy each time I am able to read and review your work. Blessings, Teri

Wow! An actual bullet in the eye--picked up by an 'exeray' Ha!
What guys will do for a woman! And I guess, women for a guy.
Interesting read with good suspense, imagery and dialogue. I enjoyed it.

That's sad that Mary couldn't go with him. It was convenient that the vet had an x-ray machine to verify Slim's story. But poor Mary is being held by the FBI and other investigators. Hope Slim and Mary can meet up together.
everything your Marian said (wondered why you didn't use the MaryAnn spelling which could by easier to guess it was Mary)

I try to avoid too obvious coincidences and cliched scenes.
Thank you for your great review.
