The only certain things are death and taxes. My father happened to be an insurance agent. I hope his customers were satisfied, in spite of his regularly coming round to collect money from them.

Actually, I'd call this more "Funny but, yes, funny." I love your aabccb rhyme scheme, and the internal "rhyme" of "rest assured you're insured." This is very cute, and darkly funny (though too often true) in its making insurance the key factor in a death.

Good luck in the contest. This is an excellent entry.

A good entry for the Not Funny but Funny writing prompt. Oh yes, I feel much better after reading that. lol Not sure how you managed to make a poem about the Grim Reaper and Insurance funny but you did. Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.
