Getting over a love is always hard. Wouldn't it be great if love could remain with the same intensity as new love. Even with unconditional love it changes, but the love always remains constant. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem.

It is avery sobering thing to come to the end of love. Makes one question was it love in the first place. But those words also show the importance of time and effort that must be a part of love and loving anyone. For me the familiar begets closeness, and does not lead to contempt. Nice work.

This love poem was tinged with sadness. Sometimes love and its pleasure are short lived. It's only meant to last long enough to teach you something. It should never be looked at as a failure. Still it hurts to actually see the other person fall out of love with you. Only to realize you are mimicking their actions. Gretchen

My exhusband got tired of me and went for a married coworker instead. I guess what we had was not true love, at least for him. I'm not sure what was the lesson. I forgot him long ago but I used that emotion for writing because I know what it's like.

That's so sad but there's a peaceful acceptance of the end of the relationship so that goodbye is not so painful. That makes it easier to go on with life without him who fell out of love.
