This poem expresses great tension. Is the love requited, or is one person left to suffer alone? It is hard to love an unloving person, and we can imagine one person turning away.

she really does look like she's longing for someone... yet confused at the same time...
nice tanka suite describing that feeling of unsure wanting
the third line of "i'm torn" brings the poem home...
nice imagery and smooth flow
thank you for sharing
shelley :)

Hi Gypsy, I love your artwork choice by Vermeer. It's a favorite of mine.
I especially liked:
I'm torn
between kissing your sweet lips
or breathe the air around you
(Both are powerful)
Beautiful presentation. Well done. Xo. M

I thought of a person who has fallen in love, yet the object of her or his love, has no idea of your existence. It's almost an unrequited love. Probably not your intention but my interpretation. Lol. Gretchen

I was ready to close down for the day and discovered you posted again. I JUST HAD to read what my favorite poet wrote. I was far from disappointed. I knew I wouldn't be. Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem with us.
