The loneliness expressed here is common to us. We can all remember an instance when we, or another person, felt left alone, with nowhere to turn. These moments did not fade easily.

Hi Gypsy, you've penned a wonderful springtime poem, and it is filled with vivid imagery. I can see it, and I can hear it. Of special note:
a mourning dove coos its mate
(Nice)
Great photo choices. Well done. This poem made me smile. Xo. M

It's sad that the mourning dove is alone and even the name of the bird reminds us of it's grieving sound. But Hawaiian mourning doves have a completely different sound. Very cheerful.

Mourning Doves do offer a soft cooing relaxing sound. If you're having rain please send to this part of Texas, we sure could use it. We've not had enough to this spring to get out of stage two drought. If it continues, we'll probably make it to stage three before the end of June. I enjoyed reading.

We don't have a lot of rain in southern California but we had heavy rain storm. I love the rain. I would send you some if I could 😊
I walked with my grandson to the park and it started raining pretty hard. Thankfully the library is next to the park so we hang out there until it stopped...or so we thought. On the way back home it rained again. It wasn't too bad. We live two blocks from the
library
Thank you very much, Barbara.

I kept going between coo and call... Coos sounds better.
Thank you very much, Shelley.

I don't think I can say I've ever heard a dove of any kind sing. Now, the loon has a haunting call. This piece was vivid in the feeling we all have when we call out for someone we've lost. Just wanting to hear their voice one more time, yet knowing we can't. Beautifully written. Gretchen

I use loons for loneliness a lot but I wanted to use
"mourning " and inside the tree hollow.
Thank you very much, Gretchen.

There's nothing worse than hearing the nourneful cry of a lonely creature calling for an absent mate, that may never return, because of tragic circumstance, well done, blessings Roy

Mourning doves are my favorite. I am trying to entice two of them to make babies in my yard. I used to thing they were "morning doves" as always heard them in the morning. Loved it. Esther
