I liked this, Tom. A lot of good advice here. There's something to be said about winking, alright. When I was in 8th grade, I was passing a really cute girl in the hall, and she winked at me. Melted my heart. I never had the courage to talk to her, but I think about her to this day. I even named a character in one of my novels after her--Dana Padgett.

That was all that it took for me to find girls alluring.
I looked Dana Padgett's up on FB and there are a lot of them, and most are cute.
Were you ever that curious? I still searching seeking the girls of my youth that opened the mystery box I learned were women.
    Thank you.

Well, I don't do FB, but I admit I have looked up a few of the cute ones just using Google. Actually found a few, and they were still pretty cute.

Thank you. Begin again, and what exactly are you starting over? There is a story to be heard. Let's hear it.

There's always a story to be told, my friend. Some good, some bad and a lot of sad. But writing is my passion and that's where my happiness dwells.

Hello Tom,
it sounds as if this technique might work on the females of this site, but I'm not so sure how it would work on the modern ladies. So much has changed. I'm glad I don't have to try and date, I'd probably just remain celibate. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Celibate thought of doing that out of high school but chose the Navy instead
Today, the ladies don?t require wooing it seems the booty comes free
reply by T B Botts on 28-Feb-2024
It seems that way doesn't it? I think the navy was a wise choice.

This is a great how to for men ready to take that first step. I enjoyed the rhyme and how each verse connected to the next. Very well written and enjoyable. Gretchen

Wooing was as much joy for the boy as for the girl back in my day
Today the rules are set by the girls

You've offered up some mighty good information, as you always do. But sadly some of us are too old to put it to good use, and wouldn't know who to pass it down to. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe I should write a column like Abby use to?
Good to hear from a supportive friend.

I've always thought there should be a male version of Dear Abby. Not that I've ever listened too much to anyone. LOL.

I'm sure you sat down and figured out all the steps you would need to take in order to win your lady over. Not. I imagine like most of us you learned by goofing up at times and learning what didn't work. Not that you figured out what worked, you've written a poem with instrutions to other poor struggling guy, to make it easy on him. You don't say what do if she reacts badly to that wink. Winks always made me nervous. I would think the guy was be getting fresh or suffering from something in his eye. Cute picture and nicely written poem.

Succcess comes from rejection. MOst fans of baseball know The Babe hot 714 home runs but not that he struck out 3000+ times.

A great peek into the inside workings of the male mind! As for the poem, it flows well with naturally placed rhymes. As for the wooing advice, I'd make one suggestion. Drop the wink. It's right up there with cringy pick-up lines. This was a great fun read for first thing in the morning!

Never feign a wink, and if anyone knows how to make use of them it is women. That's why I have a ring on my finger, as well as one in my nose but the second came from another source (wink-wink)
