yea, i've heard heroin is bad - it sucks you in and never lets go.
a great, deeply meaningful tanka - good heart-filled pivot line

Another great poem. To need or want someone so badly that it becomes an addiction is scary. I don't think I've ever felt that helplessly in love with someone. You drove the point home with the picture of Janis Joplin. Well done. Gretchen

I used to have a tape of Janis Joplin's greatest hits. It's tragic how she died. She certainly sang with much passion. You ended the poem with the title of another song which I remember was made popular by Roberta Flack.

I don't know if you watch TV but my Nephews are performing on Fox's show I Can See Your Voice tonight at 8EST They are dressed as baseball players. I can't say more.
