So I'm not sure which was more amusing, your suite of limericks or your comment section. I enjoyed both. I have no use for any respect for the man in question here. When your own son calls you a pedo and your daughter mentions the same in her diary, well, where there's smoke and all that. You have 'poetically illuminated' one of this man's atrocious failings. But there are many others as he screws his own people, too. So keep that limerick-writing machine well-lubed, um, oiled, and keep up the good work!

lol thank you very much Julie. There will likely be plenty more where this came from, especially since we are headed into an election. I've actually just launched my official campaign website this evening for President's Day but it is not quite working properly.

powerful graphic poem about the betrayal of Afghanistan which is the one criticism of Biden I agree with but otherwise disagree with. BTW AI Binge does a good job of poetry analysis here's there take thought you might if useful = I am learning a lot from analyzing poems using AI technology but this poem was deemed inappropriate to analyise I'm sorry but I cannot analyze this poem for you. It contains graphic sexual content that is inappropriate for me to process. I also do not wish to engage in any political or controversial topics. I hope you understand and respect my limitations. Thank you for using Microsoft Copilot. Goodbye.

LOL Copilot produced the sheep picture with Biden that I used in this piece. Hilarious. Copilot is one of the better AI systems if you can get it to NOT censor you. I got it to draw me all sorts of transgender pictures for my recent Snow White piece though : ) thanks for tuning me into the analysis tool; I'll have to give that a shot sometime. Thanks for your kind and entertaining review,

Oh, Well, okay, I Had some reservations about reading this, but I'm glad I did. It's not your typical Valentine's poem, but I think that's why I liked it.

The religious may rate this XXX. Politically? I think it says it all! Best, JohnC

Thanks very much JohnC and glad you enjoyed this. There should be plenty more political satire opportunities coming this year. In fact, today is President's Day. Whatever shall I do?

Hi Harambe,
Although, these are well written limerick stanzas and what you seem to think are witty, I find it in very bad taste.
Would you like a poem like this written about you, if there was no proof behind it? You could taken this horrible choice by President Biden more seriously and written it with more truth and dignity got the President and the women.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.
Have a great rest of the day and week.

Thanks for expressing this, Joan. I have been on the other side of this equation vicariously, and appreciate where you are coming from. I'm not sure I have a great answer. It's one reason I write under a pseudonym, and the pseudonym itself amplifies the armchair warrior ethos. As to WHY: The death of one person is a tragedy; the demise of millions is a statistic, and I am attempting to invert that using poor taste and shock to humanize those statistics by dehumanizing one man.

I wrote something similar but less personally directed regarding the invasion of Ukraine a couple years back, and would be interested to hear whether you find that approach of an indirect fable more palatable or effective.

Thank you for making a distinction between technical merits and tone in your review; I do weigh all respectful feedback when considering the overall balance of my future writing. This is probably the most vile thing I have ever written, and I can't promise I won't do it again, though I will certainly consider other approaches, particularly if I find examples of others achieving the effect I am going for by different methods.

    Warm regards,

Thanks for the description of your reasoning. We shouldn't have to dehumanize anyone to get a point across

Maybe you're right. I'm alleging based on what you said (re: Would you like a poem like this written about you, if there was no proof behind it?) that there IS proof in this case, and plenty of it, that this was all his call to make. I don't think he was senile or mentally incapacitated. He knew exactly what he was doing, and if he'd admit to mistakes and work to right them, like certain other Presidents before him have (like Bush 2 and Obama), I might write about him in a rather different tone.

I wasn't talking about the women. That is, sadly, true. I was talking about those who don't know this is metaphorical and really think you are saying President Biden practices bestiality.

Ah ok, I see what you mean. I think the vast majority of folks realize that this is a work of satire, given the limerick format and my notes at the end, but I have just updated the notes to reflect this, in case anyone was confused. Thanks Joan.

This limerick suite, Afghani Love Affair, has the proper formatting and pictures in metaphor the bum-ramming of the Afghani after the U.S. withdrawal.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This was a very well written and amusing poem, although the reason behind it is anything but entertaining. What is happening over there is a horror and it needs to be brought to light in any way possible. Great job on the rhyming, as well.

This was very different from all the other valentine's poems l've read, which is refreshing. A bit over the top with it's imagery, which is firmly burned into my brain, but l liked it. Best of luck in the contest. :)

Thanks very much Boogienights, I appreciate it and am glad to hear you liked it. Yeah some of this insane AI art tends to have that effect. I got it to do a much funnier one this evening that you might appreciate, haha.

To be fair, I guess I'll have to admit the format says limerick all the way. I'm not crazy about content and did get warned I could turn back, but read it anyway. I don't agree with a lot of things political. Someone said to me recently that with all the people in America, why does it seem impossible to get at least two candidates that are healthy, educated, truly able to defend their positions on the various issues, tell the truth and not be or try to be dictators? Good luck in your endeavors.

Thank you KiwiGirl. There is one way you can get those two ideal candidates... and that's by voting for me twice in November. Cecil the Lion could be a suitable vice presidential candidate, but first he has to be resurrected somehow from his bout with the poachers. I'm not holding my breath.

Hi,
This may be one of the first times I've reviewed your work. I was drawn in by the message inherent in the title. I'm not a terribly political person, mostly because I feel pretty helpless to do much about it. However, I've caught on to a few things, and betrayal of women in the Middle East, notably Afghanistan has to be one that stands out.

You use of the limerick was a good choice as the style allows a person to use a bawdy sense of humor to make a point.

Great job,
Rhonda

Wow, Mr. President. You call 'em like I see him too. I cannot stand the man and this is one of the many reasons why. What he's done, and still doing, to the Afghanistan people and their women (in plain sight, I might add) was/is despicable, and was whitewashed immediately by the media. He handed them over to the Taliban and washed his hands of them. Who in their right mind trusts the Taliban? Why Biden wasn't impeached right then is a mystery to me. Now we're stuck with him whilst we watch him go crackers. He shouldn't have been elected in the first place. His cognitive decline has been observed since he announced he was running for president. You're poem is spot on, and depicts betrayal of the worst kind.

Don't be shocked by those who think the Afghanistan withdrawal fiasco was Trump's fault. It was Biden's doing and not thought through at all. "On his watch" as President of the United States.

Sending you my best today as always.
Sal :))

Thank you Sal. Spot on. I think others share some responsibility along the way, but Biden's been a part of this from the beginning so there really isn't anywhere else he can cast blame when he bought the farm and pulled the trigger himself. It's telling that even someone who never listens to ANY conservative media would still hear from their favorite sources how badly botched this was.
