Ciao poet ,
Death is part of life but that doesn't make it easier to accept especially when someone we love departs.
It transpires from your heartfelt poem that you were close to your brother in law and that you still feel greatly his loss.
You say that often you feel him near, cherish that belief,
I don't think Gary would want to see you distraught.
So remember the good times spent together instead and be happy that Gary is in heaven now.

Darla, I am so sorry for the loss of Gary! You used really great emotional words, and I could feel your pain my friend. You will be in my prayers. Just know that you are loved by the Lord so much and I love you too my friend! May God bless you this day and every day! love, Teri

Yes, he is my brother-in-law.

A nice remembrance of Gary. It is hard to lose a loved one, but they would always want us to carry on with our lives. Remembering is fine but dwelling on it is unhealthy.

The pain may not go away, entirely, but the memories will always be with you...I lost my husband in final sleep more than thirty years ago, yet just thinking of him, can make it seem like he's just in the other room...Your rhymed quatrain verses, told your story, and told it well...Time will help, and God will answer Your prayer too...I'm sorry that you are lost someone you held dear, but time helps to remember the good times...All the best to You now...God's Blessings Always...
Warmly,
Victoria

Excellent free verse poem that well captures feelings of grief. Having lost my husband in 2022, I can relate to the feelings and emotions in your words. Excellent free verse form and use of words.
