Ciao!
Congratulations on your win. I found this story interesting.
I'm wondering if the wife thought he had perished or had just run off hoping everyone thought he had died at sea.
I ask this because less than three months and she had already moved on.
If the man I loved , the man of my life died I would still be mourning after only three months.

Well, maybe that high school sweetheart was lurking for awhile, just maybe... Thanks for the read and feedback.

It's with the woman I have an issue ...
she had already moved on less than three months after her husband "died".
She couldn't have been that in love with him.
All the best for the New Year.

An interesting submission for the Flash Fiction Contest. You were able to condense what could be a short story into a short summary and unexpected ending. Kudos to you.

wow - didn't actually see that coming. I think you managed to convey the theme of the contest in a cohesive story - good luck to you.
Thank you for sharing,

The accompanying picture completes the scene naturally, and the story told though brief is a well-written short story. Well done, and best wishes to you.

I guess the fisherman has a new story about the one that got away. I don't blame his ex for moving on. Great story. It really holds the reader's attention.

A surprise for them both! I love the picture along with this, but it could stand on its own too. I could absolutely see every woman with arms folded in the kitchen saying too little too late. Good luck.
