Clearly, I really like this one, June. The art work speaks volumes to your theme. That lovely bird is looking away. It cannot look eye to eye. But still, those two birds are close enough to communicate through their presence. To me, that is what the poem is all about. You can keep lines of communication open by having an open heart--even when you have very different opinion.

Those parrots really do seem to be engaged in an intense interaction. So true that we may not meet a consensus based on intellectual understanding, but we certainly can respect each other's intent/heart.

I think using the plural pronoun, "We" satisfies the requirement of having to "address a loved one." This poem shows us that love overcomes differences of opinion because the lovebirds are connected in their hearts. Best wishes in the contest!

Methinks this is true with many long term relationships.
From my view, it appears that your first line has a slightly larger text size than the two that follow.
I like Cleo's illustrations too for my FS posts.
