Hi Bill, what a wonderful picture you paint with this 5-7-5 poem. I can just imagine the lilacs Chortling at you as you meander by. Wonderful imagery. So very creative. Ulla:)))

I've always thought of a beautifully blooming flower as a smile from God. I wouldn't like to imagine that the flowers are laughing at me. Maybe they are just trying to laugh with me. Lilacs are beautiful and I love their scent but we are a long way from lilac blooming season.

Hi there

A very imaginative and striking 5-7-5 verse. I believe it's called 'pathetic fallacy' when we give human emotions to something non-human, which you do in style. I love the idea of the lilac chortling as you walk past as though it's got its own secret agenda for the day. Alliteration too in the first line enhances cohesion and flow. All complemented by a beautiful image. Nicely done, Bill! Debbie

I rather like the theme of the lilacs laughing, but then again, scripture tells me that the trees clap hands, the winds are God's messenger, the rocks can cry out, so why not? Beautifully written Bill, blessings Roy

Love the alliterative "Lilacs Laugh" and the personification of these powerfully-fragrant flowers. I look forward to when we can smell them in the spring.

Bill,
As a big fan of alliteration in my poems, I really like your first line.
Chortle and meander are just terrific descriptors in your Haiku.
Best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year.

Another glorious picture. Nice poetry. Nosey Nellie wants to know Kathy's prognosis. I hope she is feeling better. Paul is back home and writing.Sandra is still in the hospital. Season's greetings sounds ironic. Love to you and yours. Karen

She spent Christmas alone with CPAP machine and volunteer nurses. I can see her at ten today. Merry Christmas, Karen.

They limit when you can see her because of sleep apnea? That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. What else is going on dear friend? I have really bad gas.. There , I shared. Is there anything we can do? I can yell at them, or punch someone for you. Karen

Laughing lilacs did it for me.. then they chortled. This is a delightful little haiku that personified my favorite flower. Thanks for taking us for a walk.
