I enjoyed your poem (and picture) very much! I can relate, as well. Your syllable count is right. All in all, this is a great post. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Navada,
Do you have any AUS-some suggestions instead of sheep? LOL
I Iive almost 180 degrees from you in Albany, NY. On the southwestern corner of your continent, there is another Albany, south-southeast of Perth.
Have a good day.

HA! Yes, instead of sheep, I could count kangaroos bounding over fences. :)
Albany is where troop ships, including my grandfather, departed Australia to sail off to WW1. For many of those soldiers, it's the last glimpse they had of their homeland.

I don't know who suggested it, but it never works for me. I relate to your poem, I don't know when the last time I got a good nights sleep. The television sometimes works, but no always.

I've been experiencing a bit of insomnia lately. Helpful for the writing though!

Yeah, those sheep just keep coming and then you've got bleating everywhere. My thing is waking up very early and can't go back to sleep. What a wonderfully written poem.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I am all out of 6 stars, so I will give you 10. Your poem is very well written. You have expressed yourself with humor and wit. Your artwork choice enhances your message about sleepless nights. That is what I am experiencing tonight. Best wishes!

Thank you so much!

Counting sheep might be one way to get tired. That is a way of saying that counting sheep is a mental exercise used in some techniques as a means of putting oneself to sleep.

Thank you. It's never worked for me, but I hope it has helped some.

I have had insomnia many times in my life, I have never counted sheep. This is a clear and understood poem. The picture is cute. I wish you good luck in the contest. Karen

lol. I am with you in this one. It doesn't work, in my experience and only builds up frustration. Well said. Sending good wishes for your entry.

Excellent entry for the 3-5-3 writing prompt contest.
I like the presentation too. Concrete images easy to visualize.
Good syllables count and connection between lines.

Hahaha! As a sufferer of chronic insomnia I can relate to this so well. I've tried all kinds of things but sleep still eludes me. Great picture too. Good luck with this.
