This was a beautiful haiku, Gypsy. Your words took the message to heart- the picture itself was of an old house with a down oak tree and empty nests. Very well done and greatly enjoyed. Blessed Be n Hugs!!!

this has so many thoughts attached...
the tree - the house - bare branches
and finally an empty nest...

great haiku with great imagery and smooth flow

thank you for sharing
shelley :)

Hi MariVal,
doesn't this haiku conjure up a hollow feeling in one's gullet?

As you well know, I don't just read what seems to be apparent at first glance... no, knowing you, as I do, I dive deeper into the personification of forming my own interpretation as to how and what these haunting words may be relaying.

The strength and stability of wisdom left to die within abandonment as life leaves us with deep feelings of emptiness... dead branches with empty nests.

Makes you really think of all the things that happened during one's life to create such deep feelings, hey?

But in saying that, going all dark and melancholy... A beautifully crafted, composed and presented Haiku that really made me sit and ponder over.
And for a short form of poetry to do that, speaks volumes of its worth!

That house could be me?

With our thoughts we create...
cause and effect.

Warmest regards,
James.

    Hola, Carino,

Thank you, James, I love to read your reviews. I am happy this haiku made you ponder, that is what haiku is supposed to do. (*-*) Most of the time I don't even know where my inspiration comes from, but I always aim to write a good satori. It doesn't always happen.

James, our thanksgiving dinner was delicious and I am so full! LoL I wish I could send you and Jade some of it. We have lots of leftovers.

    Muchos besos y abrazos,

    MariVal

    Did you say left-over's!!!
    Yummmmm... did you go traditional?
Is there cranberry sauce with that?
Really happy that your dinner was delicious... hope you had a relaxing, peaceful gathering... hmmmm, did I say peaceful? I meant joyful gathering. Lol.

Very classic. Turkey, mash potatoes, jams, cranberry, stubeans, green beens, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream, everything cooked from scratch. My son in law does the cooking, he is a wonderful chef. I feel very grateful for my family and best friends, you and Helen. I'm happy and every night I give thanks for my daughter Micaela, her husband Nick, and my grandson Atticus.

    Good night, James,

    Con cariņo, tu amiga, Marival
