Evil men are always coming after Ben. I guess they are under the influence of Satan, who in Christ's time influenced those who wanted to kill Christ. I the same story of good versus evil. At least, God is more powerful than the forces of evil.

We just don't know how He is gonna do it in Ben's case.
Thank you for your kind review.

He's playing a dangerous game trying to kill God's man. He should learned his lesson and feared what he saw about Ben.

Edit: "at a fast cantor" (should be "canter")

Thank you. And thank you for the catch.
The simplest answer is that stupid/mean/proud people do stupid things.

This is an excellent chapter. Seeing how you and God get Ben out of this one will be interesting. I do not see any need for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Ben seems to rile up the bad guys wherever he goes, poor guy. It's like he holds up a mirror to them so they see their true selves for what they are, and they can't stand what they see, so they must destroy him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One small error I noticed:
"giant of a man that had disarmed him" -- should be "who" instead of "that." This is a very common mistake I catch myself making all the time.
There's one thing that I want to be in my life, a generator to influence others to be kind and forgiving, as Jesus was, I came not to judge but that through him the world could be saved. Like your Ben Persons has that affect on folk, a doo gooder, beautifully written Wayne, blessings Roy
Oh, dear, I want to feel sorry for what's coming Ben and Beth's way, but I guess I don't have to worry about them so much, do I? They've got the Big Guy on their side, and what is best will happen.
It's funny how Seth thinks kidnapping and killing are okay, but at the same time he's doing something righteous for the woman who took the boy.
Like you said, "Hold onto your seat!"
Have a lovely Thanksgiving, Wayne. Are you home for the holiday, with family, or on the road housesitting?
Thank you!
Home - We moved Debbie's 91 year old mother into assisted living last weekend. Now to get her settled. We should be able to go farther and stay longer after the holidays. There's been a couple opportunities in St. Augustine lately, but...
These two dim wits will get their comeuppance. These bulbs were dim without the drink. I can see one drink improving your mood, but after that, aren't you just chasing the first one? Very good writing. Karen
Thank you.
Good thing Ben and Beth never took to the stuff! (smiley face here)
Never liked the taste, except for Bailey's Irish cream in coffee in the winter. Also, the only time I drink coffee. :-)
A great little digression to tell the readers of the approaching threat to Ben and Beth. Excellent writing as usual. Your insight into the self-deception of these three is superbly conveyed. Well done.
Boy, these no-goodniks are really needing their lives to be turned around. I wonder if Ben can preach to them or just disarm them. Maybe the alcohol will be their undoing.
typo:
feeding the kid," sdeth thought (Seth)
punctuation suggestion:
"You got money for a room," Seth asked. (question mark instead of comma)
