Wonderful - if only all such evil men could be dealt with so powerfully and non-violently! I never know how you are going to let Ben be used by God - sometimes he gets into awful scrapes and other times he's "ten feet tall."

That was an intense read. Horrific evil in that man, and Ben showed great courage and faith as he took him on in the name of Jesus. Humanly speaking, an unlikely outcome, but this section of the story reminded me of David and Goliath.

I wanted to return to Ben and his calling as in Biblical proportion. Common sense, courage, and fortuitous coincidences can make a successful ministry, but that is not Ben's calling. God has miraculously used Ben.

Excellent

This was an entertaining chapter. Ben is able to defeat an enemy without any violence. We've seen the effect he has on people before, but it's not consistent with all his enemies. What was different this time that he's able to defeat this guy with a simple demonstration of the power within him?

Was it the fact that he's been doubting himself with his desire to do harm to bad people? Maybe he's decided to use his power instead to give the bad guy a chance to reform himself? It might be worthwhile to have Ben either talk about this or think about it and let us be privy to his thoughts.

This certainly would be a miracle, because everything about that scene seems unlikely - the gun reaching the water, the men so anxious to leave town, and Larabee trembling while Ben destroys both of his guns. Maybe a tad too easy, but I'm reminded that "with God all things are possible".

Ben keeps going - I wonder where to?

I wanted to re-establish Ben's Biblical proportionate calling. A ministry can be based on common sense and fortunate coincidence, but Ben stands apart.

Again, the writing flows well and the story builds to a climax that keeps the readers attention. This is the first time I have felt the story was less believable. That is more about me than it is about the story however. I will be anxious to continue reading this novel.

It'd been many chapters since I re-established Ben's calling to Biblical proportion. Common sense, and fortunate coincidences make for a successful ministry, but Ben is something special, much more. I felt like he and Beth needed the reinforcement of God's hand.

Beyond powerful. I know for a fact that this happens.
I have been told more than once that when I am mad and defending someone, my eyes turn black and my voice sounds like it is coming from inside a big bell. The room goes quiet. My body may not work as I would wish, But I still talk. We must defend when we can, however we can. Nothing will ever change if we do not. Great story. Karen

This is a dramatic part of Ben's story as he ends Larabee's rule of power by showing God's power. Unfortunately, he couldn't save the hotel clerk from injury by Larabee.
