What a lovely idea from that council and for people to share their thoughts, their grief. I've never heard of this rock wall before, but loved hearing about your walk along this special rock wall.
But if (it) would soon be dark,
Thanks for sharing this one, Wendy.
cheers,
valda

Our graffiti in the US is totally disgraceful. I'm happy yours is pretty. I have seen some that is beautiful, but unfortunately most of it is not. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.

This is a beautiful trip you have shared, here, and written about, so well with imagery. Your presentation is so colorful and it supports your story. You use descriptive words and colorful imagery that draw in a reader. You've taken readers along to a place someone like me, at least, would never otherwise, know
Thank you! And, best wishes!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful way to do a memorial ! I like that so much better than "graffiti". You show your writer instincts of wanting to know more of their stories to preserve them!

Thanks so much Helen for this lovely review. I was quite moved by what I read but I also wanted to share a positive aspect of life as the world is often gloomy with bad things people do. I am grateful for your review.

This post rates a six if only for the way it made me feel when reading it. Beautifully done. I could see the rocks, imagine the persons making the notes and enjoyed the sunset with you. Great writing. ann

Thank you very much Ann. It's a lovely review and I am so glad you enjoyed the story. Thank you too fir the six special stars. Greatly valued. People have put a lot of time and thought into "their" painting, beautiful to see.

Hello Wendy,
I'm so glad you shared this story with us. What a magical place, and so different from the graffiti that I see in the states where gangs place their symbols on everything from buildings to railroad cars and a kind word isn't to be found. I love the idea of people leaving encouraging messages to the strollers. It wouldn't work everywhere, but obviously it works there.
Have a blessed day gal.

Your descriptions of the variety of rocks sounds as beautiful as the picture. I looked at the linked website for additional pictures. It is good to know people tried to be artistic and many tried to inspire others with messages for a better life. Painted rocks by a river makes a wonderful memorial for loved ones and pets.

Very interesting about the painted boulders. That should be listed as a tourist attraction. Oh, I see by your notes that it is. Thanks for posting, Wendy.

Wow! I was really surprised on two counts, no rude or negative graffiti, and people actually taking notice of something other than devices, very well written, an excellent read and thank you for sharing****kahpot

Thank you very much for your most encouraging review. I always enjoy your words. Yes, those two things were important, and I do feel that the rocks kept the awareness of the value of life and relationships at the front of people's minds.
