Nice to see someone else writing about the gloom and doom of mankind.
Your entry was the last poem at the end of the list but the one that struck a chord..that packed a punch.
I don't think we will even make a thousand years...we are too destructive.
We have abused and exploited our home planet.
Love these three lines:
Today the sun arose,
blind in the fog,
choking on smog
And the powerful punch line sums up your point.

You got that right. Unless, we can live like our elders, who passed or neared a thousand years of existence. Realistically, seeing the approach of a hundred has its punch. What the hell will happen at two hundred. Frightening to me.
