Debi,

First I need to say I'm so sorry you have had to endure this. I cannot imagine.

This is really great. I thought the meter of the 2 line stanzas were fine. When I read it you had wonderful fluidity. Such wonderful rhyming and verbiage you chose.

Sometimes in life we go through these horrible events. You said you felt guilty and you shouldn't. There sin't a group of siblings in this world that doesn't fight and sometimes in social circumstances we can only make decisions based on right then and there. You had no idea this would happen and like you said if you had you'd have spoke up. God knows this and your brother does. Such a beautiful piece you have here. Thank you so much for sharing. Bless you and your work. Happi

Happi, I apologize for not being in touch before now. I was so sure I had replied to this one, to tell you how very appreciative for your very kind review and six stars, but it must not have saved. So sorry about that. Thanks again.

Your emotions are very obvious in this heart-wrenching write Debi. I'm sure if he could your brother would just give you a hug, say, forget it Deb.
Congrats on the contest win,
valda

This is a wonderfully written but so sad. You need to forgive yourself. I know the feeling. I wrote my mom a letter telling her some things I was unhappy about that she and dad had done. I know it hurt and I regret writing that letter. We had one phone call it wasn't mentioned but at least we talked normally and she had a stoke and heart attack and never regained conciousness. I felt quilty as well.

-I hope that writing this has helped you deal with the
emotions you have felt over the years.

and maybe you have helped someone else in the process, too.

I can not stop crying... YES, we all need to forgive... but not forget... that is the way I have always lived my life. I would not be able to suffer with the quilt...You are so special by writing this poem and reminding everyone to say I LOVE YOU...
Hugs,
Lisa

Oh Lisa, I have been crying every time I have to reread this and edit. I even do now when thinking about it, so obviously I needed this write. Thank you for your compassionate tears and caring heart. By the way, have I told you that as a friend, I have come to love you and value our friendship very much.
Thank you too, for the honor of your six stars!

A great piece of life advice:

Say I Love you, please don't wait
Tomorrow just may be too late

Life is long...until it isn't not.

Another great work, Debi.

very powerful and moving poem about the need to tell those around us that we appreciate them, and love them for tomorrow may be too late you never know when your time to go comes. This is especially true as you get older.

I am out of sixes, but you know it's well written, and congratulations on the contest win! I am guessing this was a hard poem to write, even after all this time.

When I worked for the American Heart Association, I often heard someone say, "So & So did a really good job." A boss of mine had ingrained an automatic response in me. "Don't tell me, tell So & SO."

Your poem underscores the value of that thought. Outstanding. Terry.

I'm not sure if I told you this, but my father died of a massive heart attack in front of my wife and I in 1995. Just prior to that, my wife told him how much we loved him. I learned then, don't wait till another day. You never know when there, or if there, will be a next time.
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WRITING VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
