As usual, Ben finds himself embroiled in all kinds of trouble with the folks he goes up against. It's a dangerous life he leads, but his calling is what's most important to him, and his faith that keeps him on his path.

It was an interesting exchange with John, who unknowingly gives Ben the idea for his next great mission: to set up a homeless shelter for the newly freed women. There never seems to be a shortage of people needing his help, nor bad guys causing those people to need help. - Jim

Having been out of town and not on the site for 18 days I've missed reading and keeping up with my inbox. These characters are different than any I can remember you writing about. :-) Thanks for sharing.

The last paragraph about the Salvation Army seems to come out of nowhere. Who said this, Mushmouth? You need to make this a bit clearer to explain why Ben is satisfied.

I was left unsure about what John's response was. Ben left him without saying anymore. I wonder if John was changed by that strong stare that Ben gives. In the last part, I wished for a little more transition because I didn't know where Ben was. He's suddenly talking to the Methodist pastor. My favorite part was the dialogue between Ben and Angelo.

I didn't understand this sentence:
" Tony considerably taller than he'd been walking from his house to Ben's." Didn't Tony live at the same place as Ben? And did Tony grow over their time walking? Or were their shadows changing?

I stayed long enough (open quotes needed)

Thank you for your great review. I now know where to rewrite/fix.
My intention was that Tony is gaining self-respect and confidence. He live across the street and down a bit from Ben.
    Thank you.

Ben continues on his mission and is far from intimidated by the rumoured threats from Diamond Jim and his men. In fact, nothing seems to deter him and his message is getting stronger and stronger both with Tony and now John. Excellently written here, Wayne. Your story moves with pace, tension and humour at times. There is one small edit - Angelo laughed like he(d) been tickled. Thanks for sharing, Debbie

Ben seems go have a new mission and he lived to continue doing God's will as long as he takes time to fast and pray. He seems to be making a difference every where he goes. His young helper is pleased he can continue with hm even after school starts.

Another fine chapter, with Ben being given the right words to say and places to go. He , being filled with the Spirit sees the needs of each individual, many of whom are at present enslaved by their relationship with or fear of Diamond Jim. Good to hear thta the "Salvos" are going to be part of your story.
