I was getting worried about the fasting thing but it seems to have given Ben extra strength! With Diamond Jim paying for the field, sounds like he might buy the team. And I wonder if Billy Sunday will show up?
That's an interesting song but I'm glad Ben is teaching the gospel through baseball.
I wondered about:
He was seeing Ben magnified half again his own size (how about:
He was seeing Ben magnified double his own size)
both body guards. (bodyguards)

Thank you for your very nice review.
I'll take the magnify change. Thank you.

This was good! I don't think that's the last we'll hear of Diamond Jim who has just found that Ben can't be bought.
and bought two different size baseball bats, [... and bought two different SIZED baseball bats.]
"That's right. We all make outs. Sometimes it's our fault, sometimes it's not." [Wayne, since "make outs" can be positive as well as negative (you can make someone on the other team out) but you only intend the negative, it might be better said, "... we all GET PUT out"]
"Like Jesus!" they all shouted. [By not correcting them, isn't he agreeing that Jesus went over to the devil??]
I really enjoyed this, Wayne.

Thank you. And thank you for the helps!

I guess all that prayer and fasting worked. Ben seemed to know how to get his message across and also God apparently moved on the heart of the man he went to see to contribute money. I enjoyed the video who shared.

Thank you. Yes, she did a great job on that song.

Very good story of what Ben is doing. He seems to have, at least in part, converted Diamond Jim and he will have an amazing influence on those boys he's gathered to play baseball.

Thank you. Hang on to your hat about Diamond Jim, though.

Well how about that! A ball game used as a metaphor for Christian life! That is certainly something young boys could understand and follow. Ben knows how to make friends and influence people. Even Diamond Jim. LOL Well done. Nancy:)

I like the way Ben used his recent experience of baseball to start preaching to the young. We all know the future is in the hands of the youth of today. If Ben manages not to get distracted too quickly, he will have a powerful Christian Army in his hands soon. kay

Good chapter, Wayne. I loved how Ben recruited his team and preached to the members at the same time about the similarities of being on a baseball team and being a believer in Jesus. I also liked his sudden influence with Diamond Jim who seemed to readily grasp and feel the power of Ben.
Ben certainly seems to be finding new and creative ways to fulfill his quest. - Jim

More excellent and intriguing, engaging writing. Thanks you for continuing to share this great story. Love the dialogue as usual and the way the narrative develops is thoroughly gripping.

I like the way you have used the ball game as a metaphor for Christian life, belief and togetherness. (Great video!). Ben is certainly expanding his repertoire in his mission of teaching. The enjoyment of this is slightly darkened by the presence of Diamond Jim although Ben seems to be completely in charge of the situation and is making some courageous approaches. Thanks for sharing this excellent story, Wayne. take care, Debbie

A lot of good parallels spoken in a way the boys can understand. And something is happening to Diamond Jim, doubtless the fruit of Ben's prayerfulness. He is certainly in tune with God and His will.
Well written.
