The resilience of humans is unbeatable. Human imperfection remains a challenge, and in some way or another, many of us are not as perfect as we would love to be. One thing that is definitely unbeatable is our human spirit and determination to overcome challenges. This is of course assisted when when there is the love and support that only a parent can give. Truly love overcomes all, and it never fails.

We can feel the hope and determination which this poem conveys. A beautiful and tender blessing by a mother to her child. I believe in miracles, my wife just experienced one, she had seizures 10 days before our daughter's wedding.
I can say, pray for Camryn complete recovery. I will have special prayers for her too.
The sky will be the limit for her!!

What a complete and adorable little sweetheart! All children are precious, but you have A couple little Angels that make my heart sing. Sweet Camryn is much like her mommy , as she is such a little go getter . She won't ever let the challengers slow her down. The has too much to show the world. God bless that sweet little Angel. What a gift!

She is strong and will not be alone in her quest for normality. Angels watch over her and when she talks nonsense, she is talking to her angels. I am disabled and was told what I would never do, I proved them wrong. Too many cooks in the medical kitchen. K xx

Your poem is so inspirational. To have a handicapped child brings additional challenges but we must never give up either. We pray a lot and keep hoping here, too, for autism improvement.

Kudos to you and your daughter for facing this challenge head on! Staying flexible will help you make whatever adjustments are necessary to achieve her future goals. One step at a time. Thank you for sharing this inspiring piece.

A beautiful poem that is worthy of framing and hanging in any daughter's bedroom. I faced similar medical challenges with my children (There's a poem called "Something Grander" in my portfolio that touches on this). As a parent you love, hope, pray, encourage and accept. It's never easy but you'll come to recognize and appreciate the blessings that come with the challenges. God bless you and your little girl.

Hey Jessica? Every one of us has "challenges" -- some have "labels and diagnoses" and some do not. What I DO know is that Camryn has both dyspraxia and a mom who is clearly a fierce advocate.

Camryn will take her cues from you. She does already! There isn't a specialist in this world who can truly predict just what her "limitations" will be.

(I was told my son would never walk, much less ride a bike ~ well, perhaps it took him until age three to take those first steps, but he's not stopped moving forward since that day!)

Bless you, and sweet Camryn!

Love your poem.

Emily Dickinson told us: "Hope is the thing with feathers!"

Karenina, thank you for your kind words and encouraging insight. I'm so grateful to you for what you said, and for sharing your experience with your son! I'm sorry for your struggle, but inspired by your words.

I was also told that Camryn will never ride a bike- that this limit was due to one of her specific brain "misfires" in coordinating balance and leg movements required to "properly" ride a bike... However, we still try, because she wants to. If she stops wanting to, we will respect that. But she'll keeping riding that big wheel like a champ!

    Thank you xo

Children, thankfully, do not "ascribe" to the "predictions" made regarding what their limitations are. I'm with you (and praying for you)-- As long as Camryn believes she will ride a bike, everyone must all do everything they can to support her! (Michael did not ride a bike...until he was twelve.)
Even then? The doctors were "astounded!" Let's let our children astound us... Love is the best equalizer!

Excellent poem and tribute to your daughter. You also have a great talent for choosing the images and font for your poems, which makes a difference as far as I'm concerned, to me, it shows the care and time you put into your work!!

I certainly hope your daughter continues to improve and prove wrong those that doubt!!!

My sincerest wishes for you in the contest! You've definitely penned a true contender for the top spots!
