Your picture was a perfect choice to pair with
your words. Those words painted a sad picture
of loneliness, though there was a bit of positiveness
which keeps the character in tune with his feelings.
Animals are great companions at any time. They
instinctively know when their owners need them
more than the usual.

I enjoyed your poem. I only saw a few things:
"best friend in my dog, Buddy" might read better as "best friend is my dog, Buddy"
I think you are missing an "e" in "H knows"
"I rely of my faith" might work better as "I rely on my faith"
