You really get me laughing sometimes. Thank you very much. Somedays it's the only exercise I get! Don't worry, that was a small joke. My youngest would say pretty darn small Mother.
He is always so helpful. And a lot like me. His sense of humor is anyway. Thanks for the chortle. Karen

Hello Karen,
I'm glad you enjoyed this. I sometimes struggle with what to write. I can go several weeks without posting something, and some folks are so prolific that they're writing several times a day. I try to stay up on the folks I follow, but it all takes time to respond, so end up not writing something. Oh well.

Well, Tom, whatever you didn't learn from your mad mixing of volatile foods, you earned yourself an All Time Best! I can't remember if I ever got one of those. So, congratulations! and recognized, to boot.
Seems like you do like to cook, and I'm sure Jan loves the help.
The other day I bought a package of 12 chicken thighs, and froze them, in packages of two. If I've already told you this, I apologize. Anyway - the more I think about this I think I did, so. no recipe.
Anyway, your analogy is original and funny.

Thanks so much Katharine,
I don't recall you mentioning the chicken. I'd like to hear any recipes you have, as we had to buy thighs last time we went to Costco, they were out of the breasts. I appreciate the fine review gal.
Blessings,
Tom

Tom, the recipe I have and will copy and send tomorrow if for bone-in thighs with skin - more complicated but good.
The ones I fixed the other night had no bone or skin, so I seasoned them with S&P, onion powder, a couple other seasonings - forget what - sorry :), then packed brown sugar on top and a pat of butter on each one. Baked them until they were done - don't remember how long - I think 350 for 30 minutes and they made a great not really a sauce, but liquid to pour over them and they were pretty tasty.

Sounds tasty!

This is a gas. Er, poor choice of words?
Let's just say you were very lucky not to have experienced more severe repercussions. I'd say this could be a good essay for the Reader's "Digest" ~~ but there again, things must have been a tad bit indigestible for a day or two!
Very EXPRESSIVE reading!
My grandmom used to call this condition the "collywobbles" ~~
not sure of the etiology of the word...but VERY sure of the etiology of the PROBLEM!
Okay...seriously. I can't top this for smiles. I'm off to bed!
Laughing all the way!

Well, you may be the one heading for bed, but I'm the one laughing right now. The 'collywobbles?" How funny. Surprisingly, I didn't really suffer too much. I was both surprised and delighted. Nonetheless, I'll probably try to avoid such a volitile combination in the future.
Blessings,
Tom

Kaboom! Sorry for the delay--haven't been on site for three (?) weeks--this wry and witty piece was an apt reintroduction--I can honestly say I came back with much fannyfare.

Hey Liz,
my word you are witty gal! I usually don't get away from here for too long. It can be overwhelming at times though. I don't want to feel like it's a drudgery to read and review, I want my time on here to be fun. There is a lot of talent on display here though, and for the most part I enjoy reading the various artists. Hope all is well where you are. We had temps in the forties the other day- a heat wave. Still feet of snow on the ground though, and the moose have been in all the neighborhoods trying to find enough twigs to eat. I'll be glad when spring finally comes. Great to hear from you as always gal.
Have a blessed day.

An apt title indeed for a comedic story. We have all been there and done that. Hopefully you have an understanding spouse. Haha.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I am always up for a laugh, particularly if one is able to find humour in their own actions or mistakes ð???

Hello JT,
thanks so much for the great review. I'm glad you enjoyed this. Fortunately, most of the noxious fumes happened while she was elsewhere. I was happy that I didn't suffer as much as I was anticipating, although the issue seems to be stretching out over the course of a few days. This old man body is always surprising me with new actions. Every day is an adventure.
Have a blessed evening.

This is a story I can understand, and have also ingested food that, already known to be volatile, with morsels containing the ability to magnify all the worst scenarios of intestinal trauma.

Hello Bill,
thanks for the humorous review and comments. I think that men seem to be able to relate more to this issue than women, although, maybe they just aren't admitting to any indiscretions.
Have a blessed evening.

ROFL! What a great way to start my day. You have me roaring with laughter, so hard my stomach hurts. I thought as I was reading that your dish and the soup would be volatile. But like you I'd have probably done the same thing and the the world shield themselves. LOL. Thanks for sharing. Wish I had a six.

Hey Ric,
I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Fortunately, I didn't suffer any long term effects. I'm glad the environmentalists weren't here for a visit though, they might try to outlaw me for polluting the air. I've wakened myself up before with a loud fart. It's startling. I have to say, it isn't easy being me. Lots of challenges and the pay isn't too good. Have a blessed day my friend.

Great story, Tom, and it's always a pleasure to read or communicate with you. I had already gotten tickled when you mentioned what you were eating together, knowing the coming disaster. LOL. Take care, my friend. Wishing you, Jan, and all the family well!

Thanks so much Ric. I hope all is well with you and yours too. Stay safe.
Blessings

Paragraph One a good build up to make the reader want to continue to find out what unfortunate decision transpired.
Leftover sauerkraut and pork. Soon as read that my first inclination was oh no he did not eat that!
Then added day old soup to the concoction. You knew what was about to go down. No question about it.
Small price paid for lesson learned, the hard way of course.

Hello Brett,
I see you have a practical understanding of the issues at hand. I would like to think that I've learned my lesson, but no guarantees. I see that I need to do a little better job of meal planning so that explosive substances aren't consumed too close together. Thanks so much for the great review.
Have a blessed day.

Truly, you are a distant cousin. My mother made the best ham and navy bean soup but it was named: Home Alone Stew. Really. It had to be enjoyed in the comforts of home with zero chance of going out.
A delightful read, my friend. I really think we could be related....
Sending you my very best.

Hello Sally,
thanks so much for the delightful review and comments gal. Who knows what might be lurking in our pasts? Home Alone Stew... that's accurate I would say. Some things are better off not shared with others. I'll have to keep that name in mind.
Have a blessed day gal.

I am not laughing at you I am laughing with you as I've been accused of the same and probably will do again. Good food is good food though they sometimes do not mix as you (we) found out.
Sorry, but I did get a chuckle from your post. You kept it light and clean for all readers.
Great writing. John

Hello John,
I understand perfectly. I'm glad this post brought a laugh to your lips. You're right, some things should be enjoyed separately, not in tandem. An error on my part. Thanks so much for this great review and comments.
Have a blessed day.
