This poem, Spring has Sprung, allows that the subtleties of environment wink in and out of our conscious awareness until, at last, the season is recognized and celebrated. Nice.

Bill, thank you!

What a beautiful poem, describing how spring comes gradually and silently. Now that we are in January, our thoughts drift towards spring, and a new beginning.

The poem opens with a striking image of the passage of time in winter -with the swift change from winter effectively conveyed after the couplet -a poem to make us long for the onset of Spring

I liked how the author's words led up Spring! The words were descriptive,
expressed with details and were creative. I thought about winter when
when I lived in NY and I couldn't wait for it to end! The poem flows and
connects well. The artwork is lovely and compliments the words of this
poem.

Wow, Spring poems already? I really loved the poem and the artwork you chose. We haven't had much of a winter here in Maryland, but in some parts that were hit with blizzards, I suppose an early spring would be welcome.

The arrival of Spring as penned down was very creative and descriptive. I found the way Winter gave way to Spring quite interesting. The imagery of days as represented by 'pages of calendar' added extra colour to the work, masterly done. Great job. Thanks for sharing your creativity, and good luck in the contest.

Ah, this is a very nicely written free verse. I like the overall feel of the poem. This may sound strange but combined with the presentation, it actually feels like you wrote this sitting outside during Spring

Oh, I wish it were March 21! It's not far off, but I'm anxious to see the birds aplenty snd feel the darkness shrink away. Nicely written tribute to spring!

June, thank you! I too am counting the days.

I think you captured the essence of Spring with your final stanzas, but I enjoyed all of this lovely poem...
Wow:
"The darkness began shrinking away
while dawns became far brighter.
Then birds aplenty came flocking over
and I saw a bee teasing greening clover.
Best of luck in the contest.
It was when the breeze settled
just past the ides of March
the calendar page had fluttered
over once more to March twenty-one."

A well written free verse documenting the progressing awareness of the arrival of spring. The use of the calendar at both beginning and end was cleverly done. Best wishes for your entry.
