What a great poem in tribute to your wife of thirty-nine years. I think the things you enjoy about her are attributes any person would find admirable. Thank you for entering the contest, and good luck. Well done. Terry.

Thankfully Terry, I judge this world is aplenty with many equally admirable women to keep us men on the straght and narrow. Smiling Back!

Initially I intended to give this writer a stern reprimand for making the lives of most husbands super difficult by lavishing such attention on his bride and then boasting about his actions. In setting unattainable expectations on we normal knockabout blokes. He set a precedent, an impossible one at that. Then he bragged about it. On Fanstory where our wives read about it. Asshole. Thought intervened. Maybe I could follow his example.
So, I cooked her a nice meal. I burned the bloody toast. As we had no Vegemite, I used a second layer of lard. Attempted a cup of tea, had no teabags so reclaimed last night's teabag from the garbage.
Still, she wasn't happy. Can't understand women.

laudable efforts in every aspect. Thanks for the six stars and not blood letting me. Power on! I?m certain any woman would cherish the efforts.

What a beautiful write-up and tribute.
Your lady sounds like an absolutely wonderful person. I would so love to meet her. Honestly, I aspire to be someone with all these attributes. I have a lot to learn from her !

Sherry, thank you🙏 While not on a pedestal, she is certainly my soulmate that walks, and talks and breathes - not a Barbie doll. We have much gratitude and I know that is very special and I never take life for granted, I am quite certain you as many other women have these qualities otherwise mankind as a whole is deep trouble.

You?re much too kind. Yes, I agree ? what we need is more real women, not social media generated Barbie fakes hahaha
Comment from Eternal Muse
You describe many attributes you value in a woman - integrity, gracefullness, nurturing, forgiving, the one who would not want to change you, and more.
Excellent creative imagery, visuals and presentation.
This should do well in the contest, good luck in the booths.

EM. Thank you, I personally believe the world we men live we are most fortunate that the majority of woman posses these attributes. Otherwise we would be far deeper trouble societally.
Comment from Anne Johnston
What a beautiful verse you have written, describing the one you love. I especially like the lines: "A woman of great integrity,
who possesses values which she adheres to no matter what,"

Since I don't know the first thing about it, I read very little poetry. But every time I'm needing inspiration and I'm about to post a story way outside my comfort zone, I turn to reading poetry. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Good for you and congratulations. We should all be so lucky to have that woman embraced for life. Since this was written just yesterday, have you shared these wonderful words with your bride? I am thinking so. Kudos and good luck in the contest.

Kaiku, oh yes, most certainly. Brownie points add up 😊😊

Second line after "Who is" - do you want "possesses" rather than "possess"?
I like the stanza about squeezing and not rolling the toothpaste - now that takes some forgiveness, lol!
"A safe place to lay my head" is so romantic and loving
This is so beautifully written and comes from the heart, which makes it even more special.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Comment from Sarah Das Gupta
This is a very sincere tribute to a much loved wife. It examines all her many qualities. The opening lines use imagery effectively. There are a few agreement issues: 'support to them and to me', 'holds grudges', 'possesses'.
